I love CEline, but now I want to know what do you think of this show...To Celine I gonna give her five stars.... by the way is anyone here that have the video of testimony, or can tell me the place when I can get it..... Thank you so much... This forum is the best, it would be so great if one day whe could all meet each other in some placeof this world, can you imagine that, all Celine's fans together in the same place and with Celine would be the best of this world..... But she deserved what Celine did to her, she just didn't stop saying she was the best, she always sang (scream) above anyone, everytime someone was trying to sing a little higher. Did you see the way she invited Mariah to sing with her, then sent her back to her place, which means behind her with anyone, with "Aretha's singers". Celine was so great that day. And the belt she did in "Natural Woman" was very impressive too. Quote
Hilda Posted December 20, 2008 at 12:10 AM Posted December 20, 2008 at 12:10 AM (edited) can i just say out of nowhere i had to just be reminded of my sheer pride for celine that night and listened to when she first challanged aretha on 'natural woman' and then 'testimony' i juuuuuuuuust love it - celine just compltetely steps up and absolutely nails it. i aalmost wish everyone wasnt screaming on top of her coz some of the vocalabatics are just flawless! and altho it can be seen as rivalling aretha i think its just all natural - aretha invites someone to challenge her - its all good. and celine steps up...its brilliant. I find her irritating now. I never really understood what distinguished a soulful singer from a non soulful singer but I can say that the way aretha sang her melismas they were very natural, not forced. very believable. like she'll do on some songs just as many melismas and runs as christina except it sounds so right and real with aretha vs christina where it's SO overbearing and annoying.but the way aretha belts sounds more like an annoying yelp and it lacks the clarity and power and purity of celine's voice to me. but celine showed her that night that's one of my proudest celine moments Edited December 20, 2008 at 08:11 AM by Your_Su_Phu Quote

There was an advertising of the VH 1 show days before it, or even weeks. And when it started I wished it would last forever. Celine was so GREAT that evening!!! I remember after the show I went insane Couldn't sleep for days! I've had tried to find it taped for so long time, that after I finally found it, I broke the tape recorder. And Testimony was my favorite moment! I like Aretha, or I should say I liked. What happened to this voice? I've listened to her latest Christmas album and I had the feeling I'm killing a cat in a very painful way. It's enough, Aretha, you did what you could. As a writer and producer (not sure if Ms. King is the producer as well), she deserved to have a part on any songs that she wrote. But what Ms. Franklin did to Ms. King is way beyond control and unjust to Ms. King's side. And for me, belting out by Celine Dion is one of the best revenge to the singers that Ms. Franklin thought is nothing more than her.... she keeps on squeeching and screaming, and well if we call it screaming, let's accept the fact that Celine screams better than her Peace Out Ms Franklin Quote
