stevo Posted April 12, 2006 at 09:06 PM Posted April 12, 2006 at 09:06 PM (edited) When Les 500 Choristes was happening I didn't really register that she had in fact re-recorded PQTME for the cd of Les 500 Choristes. The version she "sang" on the televised show is different from that on the cd so it was in fact re-recorded. This makes me very happy because I prefer this version to the original, the fragility but strength with which she sings it on the Choristes cd along with the choir gives me goosebumps- the ending is noticeably different to the original because she doesn't do the big pour que tu M'MAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMes encores but keeps it low- I love it. I think this proves that she still has the voice because the song evokes everything and more than the original did. What y'all think? Edited April 12, 2006 at 09:07 PM by stevo Quote
celinedionsfan Posted April 12, 2006 at 09:22 PM Posted April 12, 2006 at 09:22 PM I agree with you, Stevo! I love the re-recorded version. The addition of the 500 choristes makes the song even better than the original version ... and it's not easy to redo a song and have it be better the second time. Yes, she definitely still has the voice ... and the ability to sing with such emotion ... feeling ... power is her gift to every song she sings. Also ... this song, Call The Man and The Power of the Dream demonstrate just how wonderful she sounds singing with a full choir. binsk Posted April 12, 2006 at 11:11 PM Posted April 12, 2006 at 11:11 PM i don't hear a difference...the only thing different is that the 500 people are singing live in the background...?? Quote -RK
ks1981 Posted April 12, 2006 at 11:45 PM Posted April 12, 2006 at 11:45 PM of course there is a difference!! the 500 choristes version is deffinately a lot better love it! Quote
LVCeline Posted April 13, 2006 at 12:19 AM Posted April 13, 2006 at 12:19 AM I'm with binsk, I don't hear a single difference other than the chorus. I'm going to listen to it more carefully when I get home, but I thought the reason I didn't listen to it more was because it was exactly the same as the cd version. Quote
giglamoroso Posted April 13, 2006 at 04:41 AM Posted April 13, 2006 at 04:41 AM The song has more amplitude with the 500 chorists, because of it's evolutionfrom a love song in the beginning to an hymn now... (I love both!) Quote

Célinefull Posted April 13, 2006 at 06:38 AM Posted April 13, 2006 at 06:38 AM I like the original, the only part I like is near the end when she sings "Je te jetterai des sorts" she emphasizes the 'sorts' more than usual and I like that.
