i used to have 7 or 8 lil fishies. dunno what species are they sadly, they all died when i went back to Beijing after a 2 week holiday in Malaysia. dunno what the maid did...all i know she sent them to heaven

Six cats...and we didn't expect or buy a single on of them. I think we just attract animals, and the fact that almost every that has come into my house has had babies (hamster, dog, two cats, canaries), I'm beginning to think I must be a fertility Goddess. I learned about the birds and the bees VERY young!

 

But six felines...two sister tabbies found behind a dumpster, a big momma, her two kids from her first litter that were all camping out under our deck, the two more kids from the litter she was carrying, unbeknownst to us, when we brought her in (and delivering those was a trip!!)...I hope the Universe is done sending us animals. We have enough right now!!!

Awww. They're all so cute! Although, I'm kind of scared of birds!

 

And yeah..it's sad to loose a pet.. I want a puppy, but I'm not sure if I could handle loosing one again..and I kinda don't have the time or money either. Maybe one day.

Aww I'm so sorry to hear that I know how hard it is to have a pet put down, 3 years ago I had to do the same to my dearest dog "Candy"... who was in our family for 13 years, after her I thought I'd NEVER have another animal again!!! because the loss is too unbearable!!! but 2 months ago I saw my little puppy Teyah in the pet shop window, and I wasn't INTENDING on buying her (as I didn't exactly have the money at the time lol) but something about her made me crazy and I fell inlove with her and I just HAD to have her!!! I still do miss Candy very much and would love nothing more than to have her again but I definatly don't regret getting Teyah, she's made me smile again sooo much!!! In time maybe you'll be able to handle another puppy, but you just gotta give yourself that time

Yeah..Our Saara was 14 years old when she got into so bad shape, that there really wasn't anything, that could be done. We actually had her for 9 years or so. She was my baby. As much as I want a new puppy I probably won't be getting one in the near future..but I'm sure, that some time in the future I'll end up buying one, though. But first I need money and more time.

aww it's hard when they get old because there really isn't alot the vet can do.. Candy was 13 and the vet told us she had so many things wrong with her and we could end up spending thousands of $ to try and save her but she'd probably die from the operations anyway... so we did what was right! And to me also Candy was my baby! The love between a human and their dog is such an unconditional bond! It's really very precious! One of my sayings is "Live Life To The Fullest" and enjoy every minute with your loved ones, because it's so unpredictable to know when they'll be your last.

Yeah, it was the same with ours. It wouldn't have helped her even if all the expensive operations were done. I felt so bad when the decision of putting her to sleep was done. I guess it's the guilty feeling, that you get from it. Somehow it's easier to accept a pet dying naturally, than having to make the decision of putting her to sleep.

Well, at least you had your doggies around for such a long time. This is really something not everyone can have. My first dog died at only 5 years old It's been more that 2 years now but it's still so hard But we had to get a new puppy pretty soon because my other dog stopped eating (she missed Arco just as much as we did)....

Took me a lot of time to get used to the new dog and to actually LOVE him, but now I couldn't imagine to not have him around.....

Yeh I agree with you, I hated making that decision, I used to wonder and hope she'd forgive me for that sorta decision... but I'm quite sure now she's feeling alot better, she is no longer in any pain... but the guilt still sorta lives with you!

Yes that's very true, we are very lucky to have gotten so many years together.. it must have been hard for you to lose your puppy at 5 years old I'm sorry to hear that... and your other poor doggie stopped eating because of it? aww, poor thing, was it "Sandy" who stopped eating? And then she would just lay down and wouldn't eat or drink or even go out with us. Oh my Your story is so touching

And about that memories part, I know EXACTLY how it feels...

 

I remember when I was 12, my dog (Rhyno) died at the vet's and I didnt even got the chance to see him for one last time. I was at home as my mum wont let me follow my aunt to the vet's; and I had a feeling that everything won't get right at that moment... So i waited for my aunt to return home and at last she came home. I rushed out and looked for Rhyno, hoping he was there but everything turned out against my expectations. I wanted to cry at that moment because i thought Rhyno was dead but my aunt told me that he was at the vet's for further observations. I felt slightly relieved, but still, very worried. So at night I couldnt even sleep. The next morning, around lunch time, I received a phone call from the vet's. I cried out loud at the very moment the vet told me Rhyno was dead and couldn't stop crying for three days. Rhyno was only 3 months old...

These days I don't start crying when I think of Rhyno, but when I am crying, thinking of the good times I had with Rhyno will make me cry even longer. It happens everytime. That day when I was watching Eight Below in the cinema, I cried at some scenes, and then I thought of Rhyno, and still couldn't stop crying after the movie. lol
