Sure they will!  I'm sure SOMEONE reads everything that comes into their office, even if it is just to filter out the "junk mail."  Who knows, if they come across my letter, then yours, then someone elses, and another, and another, and so on they'll know something's up and they'll have nothing else to do but respond.  :-)  Even if it's on a postcard (to keep the cost down) I'd send a letter with something on it.  Even if it says "I love Celine, and I really wish 'Is Nothing Sacred' will be on a CD someday soon."      That's just my opinion.

You are so right about this. And it's great that you're trying. But honestly a new Collector's Series isn't on top of my list. If I could wish for two stuff (except the AND DVD) to be released which I know they have are:

 

1) Any live concert from the Let's Talk About Love tour (English)(it is such a shame we have nothing from this, Céline's at her peak of her career and has major star status, when just getting super famous with MHWGO, the whole 98-99 era is very golden, and yet no live concet from that time is released (I don't count ACDS, coz I really think it's a shame a French concert came out, even though she's much more known for her English work).

 

2) The A New Day Has Come CBS TV Special from 2002 (with every song performed that night, not only the "cut" version which was shown on TV, and with the original live performance of GTSW (the only live version) and not the dubbed over with studio track version.) This is a mile stone in her career: her come back concert. And it pains me so that they actually have considered releasing the 1999 CBS Special, where everything is playback, and it doesn't have as much tracks as the 2002 one, plus this one isn't a treat to fans, a lot of fans are frustrated with the studio track dubbed The Colour Of My Love concert DVD.

 

So, after we're finnished with the TCS vol. 2 thing, is anyone with me on this?

I'm right there with ya Fred! It's such a shame that Sony has dropped the ball so many times to release really big money making projects. Not to mention, they really need to start releasing CD singles again, with something worthwhile on it. What I think would be a really good companion to the next volume of TCS is a DVD with some "rare" videos, such as "Think Twice," "Only One Road," "Tell Him," the original videos to "Because You Loved Me," and "Beauty And The Beast," etc. Just my thought.

your tracklist is pretty good, but the volume one includes all singles that are released, though not officially, but are released in some countries. so meaning, naked, fade away, let your heart decide is not a qualified tracks though i love them... sony re-released the volume 1 here in philippines with an extra cd containing i love you and i love you goodbye, because they are HUGE HITS here. i think they should release the last to know, send me a lover, its hard to say goodbye, i want you to need me, stand by your side, when i need you etc...

no.. seduces me was released in some asian countries included here as a promo single for falling into you, and with this tear was also released here in philippines(though not huge), and a singer named kyla here did her own version of with this tear on her latest album(2007). all singles from volume 1 was released.

I would have voted for Would I Know, but since celine and diane reportedly hate each other over royalties, it makes no sense wasting my click on it.... voted for dance with my father instead.

the song I wish was on that list is REVEAL, since it should have been the next single choice for OH instead of stand by your side.

Also I Surrender (live at AND...LILV) bc it´s just good and it has the most amazing ending!

Hi Davey,

 

I never heard anything back after I sent the letters to Rene. However, one of the letters did get returned to me due to one of Feeling's offices changing locations.

 

It's funny that you asked me this question because re-writing a letter to Rene and Dave Platel is on my "To Do List" for this weekend. Hopefully I'll hear back from someone this time since the show in Vegas is over. I'm willing to bet a lot of the people who moved to Vegas from Feeling will be relocating back to Canada. Only time will tell.

I hate to bring it to you guys, but the day when we'll see rare stuff released for no specific reason, is the day Oprah gets her audience to stop behaving like they're on paroll from the loony bin.

 

It wonders me though, why are you so fixated with getting a cd release only with old tracks we already do have on other cd's, when we're getting a wonderful new album like Taking Chances and a gorgeous DVD as AND LIL - no, yet people whine about having a CSW 2 with old tracks that should had been on ATW but wasn't coz they could make profit out of them later, and getting Live In Memphis on yet anther media format? Why are you guys so eager to get screwed by SONY? Can't you shill like two months? I heard there's a "special" edition of the 5 year old album A New Day Has Come coming.

I'll whine here, because this is a missed opportunity... re-release, OK but make something good out of it, and don't mess it up by putting already released material on a so called bonus dvd

 

I'll whine in the TC thread that the bonus dvd of TC sucks! because the missed opportunity to enclude the recording sessions on it

 

And I'll whine in every other thread that IF sony wants to re-release old albums, start with Incognito... withe the videoclips/ special/ recoding sessions provided with subtitles.

There are many reasons why I want these tracks put onto an album.

 

First of all not all of us have iPods to transfer these songs over onto. This makes it so that we have to take out our CDs to listen to these songs. Also, some of these songs are on our computers and/or only available, so far, via downloads on the Internet. This brings up multiple issues, some being quality others being legallity issues.

 

Secondly, not every Celine fan has heard these songs. Some newbies may not even know about songs such as "Love You Blind," "All Because Of You," or "Quand on s'aime." By releasing an album with rare tracks it will allow these new fans to be able to listen to Celine music that may be old to us that will be new to them.

 

Third, some of these rare tracks could potentially attract new fans. If any of the rarer songs were to be released as an actual single to radio to help promote the album passerbys could be inclined to buy the album. This would inturn boost album sales and potentially give way for a new music video.

 

Yes, the songs are old, but look at what happened to "To Love You More." The song was only available to select Asian markets, but the song was then later released to other territories to then become a hit.

 

Only wanting new material is fine, but sometimes people have to look at the bigger picture. Not everybody who likes Celine knows about these rare gems. It is my opinion, call me a jerk if you will, that by not wanting these rare tracks to be released is in a way selfish.

thats so true joe.. especially here in philippines, where the only celine albums available now are only FIY, LTAL, ATW, OH, miracle, AND-LILV and TC. i love to hear some of her rare songs. i have all her english albums, but i want to hear songs like love u blind, all because of u etc...
