Celine was 12 when Thérèse decided to quit her job to take care of Celine's career. She entered Celine into various local singing contests and had her perform at community fairs in order to help her gain exposure and experience. When they couldn't find any songwriters that were able to write songs for Celine's voice, Thérèse decided to write one herself. She co-wrote ' Ce n'était qu'un rêve ' and 'Grand-Maman', the first two songs ever written especially for Celine.
