What that means is I can't drive a car I can't be in the military or anything that you regular sighted people can do. Also what low vision means is that I have to wear glasses and use a white cane to guide myself around town. I also have to read large print. I am also signed up for a service called Christian Record Srevices(CRS) and what they do is make it possible for the visually impaired to be able to have audio tapes and large print/braille materials to read. Yes, I am also here to tell you that if you know anybody that is visually impaired or physically handicapped to contact me through my email address: JesusMan23@inbox.com if you want to have materials or to refer to a representitive in your state I can get you the person's name and phone # and we can go from there. My grandmother has severe vision problems and I can see how much it truly affects her life...she can't read, she can't do the things she used to do and it's very difficult for her (she's VERY independent and hates to ask help from anyone). This has been a hard transition for her, like suddenly being put in a straight jacket. I can understand some of what you live with and I'm glad to see that you handle it with grace and courage. Quote

I have 20/400 with the hep of glasses. And yes GOD does have a plan for me. Most of the people who are blind that I know seem to have a really awesome perspective of life and such. They are more observant, and they appreciate everything a lot more. Even though you still have some vision, do you feel differently about life than other people, you think? I'm sure your other sense are a lot sharper -- like smell and hearing and such. I know a lot of blind people say they wouldn't want to have vision after all, but I'm sure that sometimes it would be nice to just be able to see the ones you love... I'm happy for you that you can still see a bit. Quote

Here it is: People stare at me like I am stupid or something and I feel like I have to go up to them and tell them not to stare, but I don't. I also am glad that I am low vision because I feel that I do not need to see details on tv, like 9/11/01. Sometimes I have good days and other times I have bad days. I am having an awesome day right now. I am learning about GOD and am listening to bible study courses on tape from the people that I mentioned in the opening of the topic. They have given me a new and fresh outlook on life since I have been going to their blind camps. I can see the ones I love. I have 20/400 with the help of glasses and I can see the stuff on the net very clearly like this response that I am typing. Thank You all for caring sooooooo much. Quote
