A New Day - Review March 8th to March 11th

VEGAS – March 2006

I left L.A at 2:25PM – we even tried to change the flight but AA only had 1 flight to Vegas at that day, March 6th, before mine, and it was pretty early 7am, insane. So, I decided to go on 2:25pm. The flight from LA to Vegas is pretty fast which was good because I was anxious to get there heheh I took my bags and at 3:40pm I was ready to leave the airport and went to take a taxis. When I saw the line to take a freaking cab I almost freaked out!!!! Lol Man, the line was HUGE very huge! I just know that I took me 1h and 30mins to be at the hotel room. This time I stayed at Caesar’s Palace. I did the check in and went to the room. I was expecting a great room because – c’mon, it’s Caesar’s... – but when I saw the room I almost had a heart attack lol – ridiculous ugly, small, old, - the oldest tower on Caesar’s. No way! I said to myself: I’m not going to pay all that money for this kind of room. So, I asked to an up grade and I decided to go to the new tower. Mean while I was very hungry – just had a breakfast at 9:30, - and I was going crazy thing how I would eat and get ready for the show of Cirque Du Soleil, Le Reve at Wynn. It was more than 5PM when I got to the room at the new tower. And what an amazing room!!!!! I took a shower very fast, got ready and I was still worried because a friend from Holland was supposed to arrived at 4-4:30pm and I knew that the airport was very busy.... anyway... in the end I didn't have the time to eat before the show and I bought a cookie at Le Reve theater. I love Cirque Du Soleil and Le Reve is amazing! Although I still prefer “O”. When I got to Caesar’s after the show, Mireille was still awake and I looked at the book that Estevam and her did for Celine – 25 years of show business – the scrapbook was like for keeps in away because it had photos, cards – even a blind girl send her part typed and in Braille. I went to Market Place to buy something to eat and bought some water. We slept right away after.

On Tuesday we wake up very early 7am and we went to Paris Hotel to have breakfast – their buffet is amazing. Mireille hasn’t been there and she loved it. I don’t remember very well what we did on that day.... well, we walked around, went to the pool and we made an appointment at the salon on Caesar’s to have our nails done for Celine shows. I really couldn’t believe that I was going to pay those 40$ for a french manicure while here in Brazil I pay less than 10$ and I’m telling you it’s 1.0000 better. I just thought that the polish nail was amazing. But the lady who did my nail she cut my finger and I got a discount of 20$ so I only paid 20$...which was good hahaha Mireille didn’t have that “luck” although hehe but for her 40$ is not so that expensive and it’s for me as brazilian money is nothing but you know... lol

Anyway... at night we went to see K.A, which is awesome!!!!!!!! Man, I really loved it!!!!! I had a ticket but Mireille didn’t. She ended up being far from me because the show was almost sold out.

Wednesday – Our First Night at A New Day

Wednesday finally came and Estevam joined us. He arrived 9:30am and we went to have breakfast at Paris Hotel as usual. Mireille and I had an appointment at 2:30 at the salon so we went to do our nails and Estevam stayed in room to relax a bit from the flight.

We got ready from our nails and went to our room. We take a little rest and we went to the box office to try to get tickets for me and to Estevam for this night. We took the book with us in case we could meet Michel or something. We couldn’t find Michel on that day but we got to know a very nice lady who got crazy with the book and helped us a lot. She tried everything to get very good seats for us for the show she even got CC but we went to eat right in front at the Market Place and she couldn’t find us so we lost it. But after we could get EE orch 5, which was an amazing, seat! I love it so much! We could see that Celine wasn’t feeling well. Not something physically but we could tell she was fed up with something like “Oh it’s time to go to work again.... I want to stay at home” lol those things that we usually have on Mondays hehehehe but along the week she got really excited and so funny! It was a great show and I love it so much! Besides us there were a group of brazilian people on the same row and we got surprised hehehe anyway.... I remember on that show that on her first speech people yelled many “I love you’s” and Celine loved it!!! It was super cool!

I was so happy when I heard “A New Day....hass.......” man.... so happy to be able to see her again. She looks beautiful!!!!!! Again.... as always.... lol my favorite part of the show is after “My Heart Will Go On” when everybody stands up and go crazy for her! It’s a shame that it is in the end of show...lol and soon we have to say “goodbye” but still, I love it, I love it so much, it’s such a great feeling seeing everybody standing up, applauding, some fans saying “I love you”, “you’re the best” ... seeing her face getting so emotional... I love that!!!!!!!!!!

After the show we met Elise and she – as always – was so kind! She’s very very very friendly; I really like her a lot!

We went to our room to sleep – I was tired and my feet were killing me hehehe

Tuesday

We woke up pretty early but went to have breakfast at 10am and the line was huge. After our breakfast we went to the Fashion Show Mall to see & buy some stuffs. Then we went back to our hotel room take a little rest and we went to have a little thing to eat. We went to Planet Hollywood and Estevam left before because he wanted to try to see Michel because his friend asked for an autograph from Celine. He did see him but Michel was in a hurry – he told Estevam that he had a meeting but he would come back but we didn’t look for him after that.

This night we had CC Estevam and I and our friend Mireille had Orch 3 307 right beside Orch 4 and right in front of Celine when she sings “If I could”. I was so excited ‘cause I’ve never been in CC before so I was really looking for it. We got ready and we went to the Box Office to try to find out if Celine had seen the book we brought for her and while we’re standing there the lady who helped Estevam and I to get EE tickets for Wednesday show called for our friend and she gave to her a show program with a little note from Celine saying: “To Mireille Thank you so much for your hard work, Love Celine Dion”. It was really exciting!!!! Then after that we saw Patrick Angelil and he “knows” our friend because she saw the show 25 times by now and she’s from Holland lol anyway... he talked to us a bit and he’s very very nice! I heard from some fans that he was not too friendly so that was good to know that what I heard was completely wrong, so wrong! He seems to be very protective about Celine maybe that’s why some people didn’t like him at all. But anyway.. He’s VERY VERY nice and it was great to talk to him, he got so surprised to know that we didn’t know each other in person – I knew Estevam of course hehe but Mireille, it was the first time ever that I saw her. Patrick said goodbye ‘cause he had to go. We went inside of the Colosseum. It was so close to the stage I really love it. Right in front of me there was a girl who was really nuts. She had a T-shirt with stuffs written on it and a frog with a rose and that sings “what a wonderful world” but as soon as the security saw her they took the frog away. And right in front of her there was an old man probably near to his 80’S maybe already on it, on Orch 4 row AA 401. He got the rose on the night before and I heard he saying that he saw the show many times, I think 17 times and that he met Celine something like that. And the girl was talking to him like trying to get something from him. When the show started I got crazy I love it hehe “A New Day.. Has....” and the girl was like always moving her arms ... lol and I laughed because every time that Celine gets closer to the edge of the stage Estevam always stands up to applause her – he’s the only one who do that lol I always go to the edge of my seat. We yelled many “je t’aime Celine”, “brazil loves you!” I think it was on that night or on Friday that she said “Oh I love those voices!” When she introduced the musicians we yelled “Elise on t’aime!” Celine was like “WOW” haha that was funny!

At the end of the show Elise waved to us – she’s so cute! She talked to Andre Coutu about us, it was so cool!

That old man got the rose again for the second time in a row. Mireille told us that in November he was there too and he also got the rose.

After the show we saw Aeron – the dancer – and he talked to us a bit. Then we went to our room to sleep.

Friday – The BEST night EVER!!!!!

Ok, I was really looking for this night because we had BB seats – the 3 of us! Can you imagine that? We bought the tickets far away form each other – Ok Estevam bought mine and his – but Mireille bought hers. And we all had BB and only one seat separates us but a very nice lady from Canada – she lives in Canada but she’s not Canadian – she switched the seat with Estevam so all of us were together. Mireille and I decided to wear the same shirt of Celine – and it was a black one with silver and gold stuffs on it – written Celine and some hearts and stuffs like that. And that night was special also because it was Mireille’s birthday! In the morning a friend of Mireille from Arizona arrived at 9:30am and we went to have breakfast all together. Before that we talked to a person that Estevam and I got to meet last year and that person told us to try the breakfast at Café Lago. We decided to give it a try on that day but seriously … the buffet at Paris Hotel is 1.00000 times better. The only good thing about Café Lago is that you can see the pool while eating.

After the breakfast we went again to Fashion Show Mall so that Estevam could buy the stuffs he had too – some people from his work asked to. We had lot of fun on the way talking about Celine and doing some imitations on Fever song lol We love FEVER lol

We tried to meet Michel again but we had no luck. I wanted to give him a box with some frogs that I bought lat year and inside I put a DVD from a great brazilian singer singing Tom Jobim – Tom Jobim wrote the song “The girl from Ipanema” and Celine loves that song she ever “sang” a bit of it on a interview to a brazilian TV, and a small letter to her. I was supposed to give her a brazilian flag too but I forgot it later. We ate a bit – just a salad and went to the room to get ready as that night we’re 4. After the show we had a reservation at Terraza restaurant to celebrate Mireille’s birthday.

We went to the show and because Estevam, Mireille and I were wearing a Celine t-shirt lol everybody kept looking at us lol. We entered early and we waited until the doors were open and while we were waiting we saw Patrick Angelil and he came to us and talked to us a little and then… he gave us a bottle of champagne! It was so cool! We could celebrate Mireille’s birthday! And what I liked the most was that he said to guy who is responsible for it: “Hey give them a bottle of champagne because they’re the real fans!” wow I was so happy to hear it from him!!!!! I didn’t have much of it because I didn’t want to go to the restroom nor sleep in the show – I don’t drink – just in special occasions so alcohol makes me sleep hehehe

Man… all I can say is that BB ROCKS!!!!!! Lol After BB I don’t want to sit any further… lol so freaking amazing!!!!!!!! I got crazy!!!!! When the show started and Celine got closer to the stage it was amazing – Estevam stood up again only him to applause her and she was so near and I remember that I looked at her and then I looked at Estevam and I started to laugh lol. Celine was better this night – the best she could be – I think we did a great job hehehe . On this awesome night was the first time ever that I saw the audience stood up for the whole Love can move mountains and I drove all night – the WHOLE SONGS!!!!! WOW We freaked out!!! I danced like crazy lol and we did the same thing as Celine “I drove all night….” And to get to you I pointed to her lol – that was AMAZING!!!!! I remember also during Fever we did that “bbuuuummm” sound and Celine was almost laughing at us lmao hahaha that was so funny!!!!!! I love Fever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And during Love can move mountains Aeron the dancer saw us and he was like looking at us and laughing hahah so funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have to tell you guys what I did lol --- Celine started to talk about Rene Charles I think it was after “If I could” she was telling us that he’ s already 5 and that time flies and that soon he will bring a girlfriend to home…. And for some reason she already doesn’t like her at all… lmao then I yelled – just me … -- “He is so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!” --- Ooopppsss lol some people from the front row looked at me lol lmao lmao lmao I blushed lol

After “My heart will go on” as always it was crazy. People applauded her during a long time and she couldn’t talk. Estevam and I were yelling “Oohhh Oohhhhhhhh Celine Celine Celine!!!” we did that like 3-5 times lol and that was so cool!!!! Then, when there was a silence again I yelled for the 1.0000 times lol “I love you Celine!!!” just me, just my voice on that silence and she replied me saying: “Oohhh I love you too, sweet!” I don’t know exactly what she said – I mean, I know she said sweet just after too but I’m not sure if she said just sweet or sweetheart. I felt so great after that; I had a huge smile on my face!!!

During “What a wonderful world” the 3 of us were on the big screen and it was funny because it was the part that they show the same persons like 3 times in row just like a movie you know lol I was laughing in one of them lol I really don’t like when the show is over lol I wish it was longer lol like 2h 2h-3h lol more speeches more Celine lmao anyway…. Heheh

During the show Celine kept winking to a lady right in front of me. I was so sure that she would give her the rose and I was ready to tell Celine something like – I love you petite fleur, shake my hand – but Celine gave the rose to a old lady on Orch 5 she was on the isle on row CC or DD I don’t remember.

We could not wait much because our reservation was at 10:30 and the show all that week started late just a few minutes before 9PM. Celine was always late…lol I liked it because I could spend more time inside of the Colosseum where is so warm and humid. My skin got too dryer over there, it’s terrible!

In run to restaurant and on the way we saw Mama Dion, one of Celine’s brothers, one of her sisters… etc. We talked a little bit – basically the conversation was in French so I really didn’t say that much. They’re ready to go to the room I think, Mama Dion looked tired. I think everybody was tired …. Including us lol

In the restaurant I had a pasta pomodoro so delicious!!!! Although it was pretty late to eat I ate the whole thing LOL then after we went to our room to sleep. I fell asleep right away.

Saturday – the started really early….

Then I woke in the middle of the night … well, almost 6am lmao due to a noise I was listening from the bathroom. At first I thought someone was there washing hand or taking a shower…. But then, when I opened my eyes I saw that the door was open. So, I got up went to the bathroom and turned on the light… that was when I saw that it was raining there! There was some water coming out from the ceiling. I woke up everybody in the room and Estevam tried to call the front desk but the telephone was dead. He used the other phone in the room and then someone went there to see it. The guy knocked on our door 5 mins later and he said that a guy who was on the up floor right above us did drink a lot and he left the bath on – so there was water in the bath on his room and that water was going to our room. And the guy was no sleeping and nobody could go inside. C’mon! Then, he took of the thing on the ceiling and the water stopped to come out. Our bathroom was a big mess! The wastebasket was full of water! We went back to try to sleep again but we couldn’t. We slept just little until 7:30am and we kept talking about it and what we could do. We went down stairs and we asked to see our account ‘cause Estevam was going to leave very early in the morning as his flight was at 8:10am. So, we told the lady about what did happen and then we won a free night at Caesar’s … lol this was good!!! In the end, the total was cheaper from the total we had when I did the reservation on the old tower. Now, I always want to stay at Caesar’s! lol If you see well, depending on the time you go, and how many people you go – it’s much better to stay in a nice hotel. Estevam paid the same price as if he had stayed at an Inn that he used to. And beside that, sometimes the difference between a hotel from another one, you spend it with taxis.

We couldn’t had breakfast at the buffet place at Paris ‘cause when we got there it was late – you know weekend on Vegas… - the line was about for 2 hours! We had breakfast at a little place there. It was not good but was Ok. Then, we went to the drugstore to buy some water. I was always caring a bottle of water with me. It was so cold that morning. We went to the Fashion Show again and I forgot to go to the Wynn hotel to buy the show program from Le Rêve. Then, we walked back to Caesar’s and I was freezing!!! We went to the Mac store and I bought some foundation. We went to the room left our stuffs there and went to eat at Planet Hollywood. After we tried to meet Michel again but once again, no luck. Then we went to the box office to try to get better seats for tonight show. After BB… we got spoiled! Mireille had CC, Julie had BB and Estevam and I DD. But nothing better was available. This time we took with us our brazilian flag. We just wanted to have some fun with the camera. Then, the camera focus on us… I blushed again! Then, right after that, a security came and took the flag away saying that we couldn’t have the flag on the show. I felt so bad about it, I was mad. I felt like a criminal you know.. The way things happened… in front of everybody.

As soon as the show started I couldn’t help my self. I started to cry. On the moment that Celine was on the edge of the stage I had my hands covering my face, and didn’t see anything. Then I tried to compose myself again, opened my eyes… and looked at Celine. I was feeling mad and sad at the same time because it was the last day and maybe the last time I went to Vegas if the show ends in March 2007.I don’t know if she saw me crying or not… but I kept crying over and over again. During If I could I cried a river. I didn’t enjoy the show at all. I didn’t yell anything to her. I don’t know why I was so emotional on that day. During “My Heart Will Go On” I cried again and I couldn’t say anything to her on my favorite part of the show that is when everybody stands up to applause her. I kept my silence. Then, what a wonderful world started and the light was on the audience as always and I was like:”Oh my gosh! I don’t want anyone seeing me crying….” Then I remember that Celine was standing right almost in front of me and then I saw my face on the big screen again – this time crying!!! And it was during my heart will go on – I know that because of my position, my hands. I looked horrible crying lmao and I was like: “Oh non non non non” and looked a Celine… lol. Then the show was over Celine gave the rose to a lady on front row orch 4, said goodbye and went backstage.

We stayed there a bit and I cried again. I had again my 2 hands covering my face and I didn’t feel like talking to anyone. I remember that Julie sat next to me and asked if I was Ok. I moved my head saying “yes”. Then, I heard the lady who took our flags away saying “I’m sorry!” Estevam later told me that he told her that it was the 14th time he was seeing the show and that he always brought a flag and etc that he got surprised with that. The woman said that they’re afraid of someone trying to throw something on stage so that’s why she had to get out flags. Estevam then said that he would never do that as he never did all those times.

I finally could stop crying and we left went to out room and I wasn’t in the mood of talking to anyone. I kept my silence for a long time. We packed our bags and went to bed. I couldn’t sleep well thinking about flying all those hours again…

Sunday – Our last day

I woke very early and said goodbye to Estevam and went to sleep again for half an hour. I got up, took a shower and I was ready to have breakfast alone and walk at the casino – the empty casino heheh – In silence. I even cried a little when I woke up. Then, Mireille woke up too and she said she would come with me. We ended up having breakfast at a restaurant in the new tower. It was nice. I have granola with natural yogurt and honey – which I love! Orange juice, a bagel with cream cheese, plus a plate with fruits. Of course I couldn’t eat everything… but at least I had food enough in the case I could only eat at night. We went to the boutique and I bought the frog, Oh that cute frog!!! Hehe what a cute face it has!!!! Then I went to the room called the bell center so someone could pick up my bags, took a taxis to the airport. I did the check in and went to the gate. I almost fell apart right there. I really had to hold my tears so badly. I was anxious to leave Vegas so that my feeling would go away… I thought. During the whole flight from La Vegas to Atlanta I could not stop thinking about Vegas, about Celine, about being a fan and everything. I guess many things changed inside myself. I really don’t feel like doing it so soon – going to Vegas. I mean, I’ve been going only to Vegas since a long time and although I love Vegas, I love seeing Celine live…. I still want to go to other places. I don’t know… everything can happen then, hum?!? Until next 2007 many things can happen. Let’s see…

I want to finish this review with a poem that I wrote to Celine years ago and with a song called “If I could reach your heart” from KA show which I’m so addicted to, and each time I listen to that song I always remember of Celine. One thing I know for sure: Celine is and always will be in my heart. She will always be “ma petite fleur”.

“If I could talk to you. Just a few words… If I could reach your heart with those simple words.. maybe we could learn to trust, see the best in us, if I could sing to you and make it through, If I could see your soul when you smile and say (…)”

Hey Tati,

What a great review!!! It's like i was there again! I had a wonderful week there in Vegas with all of you guys! And the day i left Vegas, i felt sad, sad to know that it might be the last time of being there... :cry:

Sometimes you wish that the time doesn't go by any further, that's how we all felt that week in Vegas!!!!

But now we're back to normal life, but with these great memories in my mind forever! :innocent:
