Céline's Blues Posted March 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM Posted March 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM (edited) http://youtube.com/watch?v=JLIUGVo9N1U&search=celine%20dion First of all, her vocals were at times EXACTLY as nasal as she was on "I'm Alive" in October 2003 when the Vegas album was recorded yet she showed great vocal power and control throughout the song, yet for me there was something lacking... her restrained version on TATST is way more ear-friendly and almost soulful. Almost. LOL! What do the other lambs think? Edited March 17, 2006 at 11:39 PM by siur Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
seahawk Posted March 18, 2006 at 01:20 AM Posted March 18, 2006 at 01:20 AM (edited) Thank you so much for this video, It's the first time I see celine singing this song. And I think Celine is perfect here. She is (and was) always nasal, it's her style. Edited March 18, 2006 at 01:32 AM by seahawk Quote
celinefanonline Posted March 18, 2006 at 04:31 AM Posted March 18, 2006 at 04:31 AM oh interesting thanks for sharing this 1992 video !! Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
LVCeline Posted March 18, 2006 at 06:42 AM Posted March 18, 2006 at 06:42 AM I had to turn it off after she uttered the word eskeemos. I have always hate the living hell out of that song, no matter who sings it. And yes, she has always been nasal, but Vegas is an awful clogged nasal. Quote

The interview was sweet, but that song gives me a migrain. Quote http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/7108/ziegfieldgirlbanner.jpg
nano Posted March 18, 2006 at 09:41 AM Posted March 18, 2006 at 09:41 AM Thank you so much for this video. I've never seen that before. And about her vocals, at that time ~1992, her voice was little nasal but after many years of practising and doing the vocal exercices, her voice changed a lot, and in 1995 (D'eux) we could already see and hear the difference. But in this particular performance, it's difficult to analyze her vocals 'coz the audio quality is bad. I don't care if it's nasal or not. I love it. I wish there was a better quality video Quote "Today, I’m a person on a path of connecting with my source and understanding that I am on the leading edge of creation.."
Esty Posted March 18, 2006 at 09:42 AM Posted March 18, 2006 at 09:42 AM Well if it's not perfect.... it's cute at least Quote
fred Posted April 23, 2006 at 09:09 PM Posted April 23, 2006 at 09:09 PM This is an interview (in English) I have never seen before (found it just a while ago on youtube) from 1992 (I think) where Céline sings The Christmas Song live, and it is wonderful. Imagine listening to this performance back then and had to wait 6 years for a Christmas album. I don't know how to link to this file, but go to youtube.com and search for "celine dion christmas interview" Go check it out! /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
René 2 Posted April 23, 2006 at 09:36 PM Posted April 23, 2006 at 09:36 PM Thank you, guy ! It might be a great performance. Quote
fred Posted April 24, 2006 at 07:49 PM Posted April 24, 2006 at 07:49 PM Thank you, guy ! It might be a great performance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is! I was surprised, coz I didn't expect it to be live. Didn't she do it later too on some show with the TCOML look, but then it was playback... This time it was live. What did you think about it? /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
Céline's Blues Posted April 24, 2006 at 07:53 PM Author Posted April 24, 2006 at 07:53 PM I posted about it already. It was awful. Extremely nasal and soulless. Quote http://i.imgur.com/dmreJ.jpg
fred Posted April 24, 2006 at 09:28 PM Posted April 24, 2006 at 09:28 PM I posted about it already. It was awful. Extremely nasal and soulless.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Haha! Ok Mr Negative, didn't know about that, sorry. I don't think it was awful. It doesn't bring the feelings of Christmas and yea it is a bit to much show off, but you can't diss her not in this performance. And nasal, sure, but it doesn't get as nasal as the AND LIL cd. /fred Quote Peace and love to all.
