First of all, her vocals were at times EXACTLY as nasal as she was on "I'm Alive" in October 2003 when the Vegas album was recorded yet she showed great vocal power and control throughout the song, yet for me there was something lacking... her restrained version on TATST is way more ear-friendly and almost soulful. Almost. LOL!

 

What do the other lambs think?

And I think Celine is perfect here.

She is (and was) always nasal, it's her style.

I had to turn it off after she uttered the word eskeemos. I have always hate the living hell out of that song, no matter who sings it. And yes, she has always been nasal, but Vegas is an awful clogged nasal.

SHe worked on her voice to remove the nazalness, but now it's ocme back because she has stopped working on her voice as much as before.

 

 

The interview was sweet, but that song gives me a migrain.

And about her vocals, at that time ~1992, her voice was little nasal but after many years of practising and doing the vocal exercices, her voice changed a lot, and in 1995 (D'eux) we could already see and hear the difference.

 

But in this particular performance, it's difficult to analyze her vocals 'coz the audio quality is bad. I don't care if it's nasal or not. I love it. I wish there was a better quality video

This is an interview (in English) I have never seen before (found it just a while ago on youtube) from 1992 (I think) where Céline sings The Christmas Song live, and it is wonderful. Imagine listening to this performance back then and had to wait 6 years for a Christmas album.

It is! I was surprised, coz I didn't expect it to be live. Didn't she do it later too on some show with the TCOML look, but then it was playback... This time it was live. What did you think about it?

I don't think it was awful. It doesn't bring the feelings of Christmas and yea it is a bit to much show off, but you can't diss her not in this performance. And nasal, sure, but it doesn't get as nasal as the AND LIL cd.
