bgold50 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I often wonder about Celine's backup singers. Have any of them ever released any of their own albums? Where did she find them? They obviously all have incredible voices to be able to keep up with Celine. I'd be very curious to hear each of them singing alone. We've gotten to hear Terry Bradford when she does Beauty and thw Beast. What about the ladies? Elyse Dugay has been with her for years. Is she still with her in Vegas? All the best!Brian Quote
AllCeline Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Shania Twain did some back-up for Celine She's not one of the BEST singers to me, but I guess she's okay. I never knew that! Was it live or on CD or both? When was this?<{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think she did back- up for the song, " Goodbye's( Hardest Word)". Shania's husband, Mutt Lange wrote and produced the song. Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v119/LKlafter1/1367035680_small.jpg
Paulinha Dion Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I thought she sang If walls could talk as it´s is written on All the way cd... Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v226/CelineSmiles/fan/BlinkieCK.gif
AllCeline Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Ya, I know for sure she did back-up for IWCT; I'm not too sure about GTSW, but she probably did if Mutt wrote it. Just some thoughtful thinking Quote http://i34.tinypic.com/9ybm.jpghttp://i54.tinypic.com/o56kr5.jpghttp://i54.tinypic.com/vhqqu9.jpg>> flickr | WordPress <<Celine Dion needs another ANDHC/OH album! No more Taking Chances--just do what works!
celinefanonline Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 (edited) yeah Shania did back up for both songs IWCT and GTSW..you can see that in the lyric booklethope they do a duet soon one day Edited March 11, 2006 by celinefanonline Quote Courage don't you dare fail me now!
VanMerlin Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Didn't Shania only say 'walls' at the beginning? I don't think she was part of the actual backup singing on that song. At least that's what she said in an interview... Quote
LaFeeRailleuse Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 A great singer called Carol Fredericks worked on D'EUX... She was a JJG's friend... She died a few years ago (from a stroke I think ). She duetted with Céline in 1996, in a charity concert called "Les Enfoirés" (the same evening when Céline sang Quand on a que l'amour with Maurane). Carol had a GREAT voice! http://www.jjgoldmanetlespauliniens.com/Images/Goldmanscann/carolenew4.jpg Quote
Bellamy Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Carol Fredericks also sang Knock On Wood with Celine on Taratata 1995 I think. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!

Mozinha Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I like their voices. I'm always impressed with their performance on the Live a Paris DVD, when she is introducing her band. Amazing. MTJ Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 I just went to vegas a few weeks ago though, and I was kind of sad to see she didn't introduce the singers or any band members except mego. I mean there is the packet thinggy (I cant think of the proper name for it) that has pictures and such...but it was so nice when they all did solos back in the day. Not even just the back-ups, everyone's been with her for so long. Look at Yves Frula; he went right on stage with the accordian and she still just pointed to him saying "heres the accordian, cello, and keyboards!" Oh Céline... Quote
Mozinha Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 This is sort of off topic but...When I was in Vegas, 2 hours before the show, I had just sat down to eat my pizza (at Ceasers) and then when I looked outside I saw Yves Frulla walking on the other side of the window. I just stared at him and I was like "OMG THIS IS REAL, THIS IS HAPPENING!". And then I lost my appetite and left the whole pizza slice on the plate LOLOL. Anyways, the backup singers have great voices, very impressive. I wonder if I ever had a good singing voice I would definately want to be a backup singer. I don't like to be in the spotlight... reinv89 Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Celines voice and the voices of her singers belong together. It fits so well. She made a great choice with them. Do you think, she could sing a song like I SURRENDER alone! My opinion: NO! Quote

She was also in this group with JJG and Michel Jones : Goldman-Fredericks-Jones. I think they had 2 or 3 albums in the 80ies. They had some hits like "A nos actes manqués" or "Né à Leidenstadt" and I think she also had some solo albums as well. Great blues voice. Quote
Pureceline Posted March 13, 2006 Posted March 13, 2006 I like Elise! She is verry good! I hope she stayes with Céline for some more years!
