mirage Posted March 7, 2006 at 07:09 PM Posted March 7, 2006 at 07:09 PM Last week on Thursday, March 2nd 2006, Céline did once again fill her audience in the Colosseum with enthusiasm because she did perform a terrific and perfect show. But nobody is protected from mishaps... even Céline isn't. During her performance of "Love Can Move Mountains" it happend that the suspenders of her pant suits ripped and both suspenders fell down. Of course she wasn't able to perform like this and that's why she left the stage for just some seconds and came back with a new pair of suspeners to go on with the show. You are wrong if you think that something like this puts Céline off her stride. She also made fun of herself afterwards. Vielen lieben Dank an Michael, der uns diese lustige Geschichte gleich nachdem er aus Vegas zurückkam berichtet hab. Danke! - Thank you so very much Michael for letting us know this funny story immediatly after you came back from Vegas. Source: Celine Speedpage Quote
VanMerlin Posted March 7, 2006 at 07:21 PM Posted March 7, 2006 at 07:21 PM Every performer has to go on with the show. Faith Hill has fallen right off of the stage, Lucy Lawless sang the US anthem even when her strapless shirt fell and revealed her breasts, Enrique Eglasias has talked about falling on his butt, and even a violinist will break a string in the middle of a performance and pick up a spare or rip her pants down the back (like one fiddler I read about). She just wrapped a towel around her waist and went on. You learn early in showbusiness that "You don't stop at a mistake mishap. You keep going as though it didn't happen." Quote

VanMerlin Posted March 8, 2006 at 04:21 PM Posted March 8, 2006 at 04:21 PM (edited) I've always wondered, when people say, "Oh they went on with the show...". I mean, what's the alternative. Have you ever heard of someone who lost a button or broke a strap and just sat there and cried, running backstage saying, "I'm not going back out there. It's all ruined now!" Now, a truly strong moment was when Sinead O'Conner stood up and sang a capella to a crowd of loud boos a few days after she'd ripped the picture of the Pope on SNL. That's what I call going on with the show! She was nearly ill on that stage. The sound of the crowd must have been just intense. Geez, I've heard of people vomiting on stage. If you can get past that and go on, you can endure pretty much any mishap. Didn't Celine lose her voice on stage? That mishap deserves a crown. That would have been terrifying, but she fought back and kept going. Ah, the resilience of show biz people. Edited March 8, 2006 at 04:22 PM by VanMerlin Quote

1Celine12 Posted March 8, 2006 at 06:29 PM Posted March 8, 2006 at 06:29 PM There's a saying from Céline: "Think of the positive, not the negative." She means that just because you are haveing a bad day doesn't mean you can't still think of the positive. Example: her mishap on stage at A New Day... She made a bad situation turn good. She joked about it later on. Quote
