David Foster predicts "Celine will just walk away"

I started to read and I loved all the respect and admiration he feels about Celine...

"She's -- well, she's just of course Canada's great national treasure. And I've said it before but I will say it again:

 

You take somebody like Whitney you ask her to sing a lick, and she will give you something back that isn't exactly what you asked for. Sometimes it's better than what you wanted but it's not what you wanted.

 

You ask Celine to give you a lick, and she gives you exactly what you ask for. And she'll do it 10 times, sometimes 20 times. She is the most professional. I just can't say enough great things about her and her husband. It's a great, great love story.

 

I've known her since she was 18 or 19. I'm thrilled and honoured that I'm still in their camp. She has other people come in and out of her life, but I'm one of them."

 

BUT then...

 

This is where Foster offers his bombshell prediction.

 

"I suspect - now this is just my own theory, I don't say this because anybody has tipped me off to anything, this is just what I think - I think that Celine Dion will one day in the near future just walk away. That's what I think. Because she's been doing it since she was 12. She's now 35, 36, she'd like to have another child, so that might be a deciding factor for her.

 

I think Vegas has been very hard for her, just in terms of the voice and the air and all that. And although she loves to sing, like an athlete, they walk away when they're on top".

 

I don't know... but I think he's right...

well i just hope is wrong...i think this has been discused over and over again. in the end i think it's celine's decision to do what is best for her, for her family. the only thing that remains for us is to hope that will not..just walk away now...

maybe one day she'll come back , maybe not .

I read somewhere that people were thinking that she was gonna retire completely when she had her hiatus, but she said that she wouldn't retire. That imo was a mini retirement to get her life in order for the future. That's all it was.

David said that also during A&B Biograpphy meaning that Celine did all in her music carrear and after a show like a new day... no wonder if she will stop all! it was a kind of compliment more than a prediction

That's only is opinion.

 

But we all know that Céline may take another break or may slow down after Vegas. But this is all supositions, we have to wait to see.

You're right, lamourpourCeline. She has said before that she will not retire completely, but take breaks from music from time to time. Like some of you guys have said, it will be sad to see her retire completely from music, but we have to realize that she has done possibly everything that can be done in the music industry.

Ok maybe this could be na old interview but i really don't see Celine walking away anytime soon maybe when she's in her 50's or 60's like Cher and Barbra Streisand but that's still a far way off!! At some point she will be leaving the spotlight and touring scene that's inevitable but i just hope that it's not anytime soon.

 

And as people and David have mentioned it's not a fact it's just his opinion, nothing more.

You probably wouldnt say that if you saw her show. She hasnt walked away at all, in fact, I think she's stronger than ever. Its just too bad her record company has pigeon-holed her so badly as its perennial "Adult Contemporary" artist.

 

I agree with you with "Miracle" tho....kinda bad to see somewhere make an album of kinda corny bad music just because they're so enamoured with their child.....but that's our Celine, thinking with her heart instead of her head as usual!

 

I do believe what David has said is right tho - she will someday just stop when she feels the time is right and she's accomplished all she wants with music. I dont think that will be for a looooong time tho.

"If" Celine just walk away or quit singing, she will always come back 20 years from now, because "if there is a tribute to a Legendary good singer to remember.. and give Celine an award for a Life Time achievement for honory... I am one of those fans that can't wait to see Celine Dion again to recieve that award on TV... and have a good smile to remember, and maybe still rooting for her when she achieve that award she deserve...

 

Celine Dion is one of a kind and the Best of them all... Because here is all my list of the good singer that quit or just walk away:

I agree. It will suck when she retires. But, she has had a long and very successful career, and at least we have a lot of memories. I joke with my family that I won't have a life when she is gone, lol. But, we will all make it! haha! I don't think she will ever walk away completly. But, just slow down a bit. I will for sure miss her, but life goes on....

Yes but i think with rene being his age time together is precious, she would even want to see rene charles growing up, I dont blame her but hope if she does finish its only for a brake like before
