Did Céline ever fall down on her knees during

Ok, now I'm finnaly gonna bring this up.

 

Rember this show some years ago (some countries may still have it I don't know) where normal people came to imitate artists. They had make overs and performed live. And then they were judged how much the sounded like the original star. And there were many shows and then they choose the best of all the best to compete in the European final. Well it was this Europeean final and one girl competed as Céline Dion - and won! How can anyone trying to imitate Céline Dion ever manage to sound like her?

 

I wasn't a big fan at the time, but this was the first time I got to see "Céline Dion's" image. This girl who perfermed looked like a copy of that Céline who is on the cover of the TCOML concert (with the sleeves and everything).

 

Now she sang Think Twice, and on the big "no no no no!"-part she got down on her knees. Now I have never seen Céline do this, however I have only seen very few Think Twice performances. But as this girl were copying the real Céline Dion, did the real Céline Dion ever do this?!

 

By the way, why hasn't this girl ever been mentioned on this forum. I mean it must be quite a big thin being able to sound like Céline Dion (however I doubt she does, but she must have had strong characteristics in her voice for the jury to make her the European winner.

I watched this too!!! 1996.

I don't remember anymore if her voice really looked like Celine's at all. But I really loved Think Twice and I remember I wanted her to win.

I was hooked on this show for years! I remember a portuguese boy won it I guess in 1998. He was imitating REM "Everybody hurts". Someone imitating Seal "Kiss from a rose" also won.

Céline ALWAYS falls on her knees while being on tour. ALWAY ALWAYS. Even if she lipps it on the TCOML DVD she is right on her knees. I'm kinda surprised you didn't know this since it's one of THE classic Céline moves on stage.

 

And apart from that there is a pic of her doing that in the TCOML tour book.

 

Oh, and while we are on the matter- the last time she fell on her knees was 2003 when she "performed" Ne Bouge Pas from Vegas. I loved it, it was so her! LOL

Well I only knew it from that show... But perhaps I have seen it in the TCOML concert and forgotten it.

 

Suir, I don't have the TCOML tourbook Became a real fan in '99.

 

But does anyone have a high quality performance of Céline singint Think Twice LIVE (and goes down on her knees)???

Have you got any clue why she stopped performing this song so early? I mean it is one of her best songs plus one of her greatest hits. It is almost a rock ballad, and almost a classic. I mean any artist would be so proud to have had their name next to that song and would've sung it in every single concert since the day it was released as a single... I mean she always performs TLYM (and TT was bigger, well not in Japan ) and The Power Of Love (from the same time, so it's not because it's too old).

 

And it is actually one of the few tracks which has not lost its magic (which BYLM has, that song is so empty now).

 

Did Céline not like this song?

She loves it, Fred as far as I know but the song was huge FLOP in the US so she doesn't perfom it there. But she did perform this song in some european countries till 1997. No idea whether she incorporated this song into her UK LTAL-soullessness-tour in 1999, tho.

That's a classic. Céline going down on her knees on that song. I guess unfortunately as long as she is in the US we won't hear that song, because US people don't care about it, since it wasn't a success there.

Actually I'm glad she doesn't sing it in Vegas. Look what she did to her other classics "Because You Loved Me" "It's all coming back", like Fred said, they are empty.

Though I hope after Vegas, when she comes back to Europe once, she'll perform that song again

She sang it in Edingburgh and Amsterdam in 1999, those are the bootlegs I know , so I guess she sang it on all her European LTAL concerts.

I don't remember Think Twice even being released in the US - as it was one of my FAVORITE songs from TCOML Concert! Either that or Sony wasn't using their "Payola roll" to get Celine on the radio at that time!

The german artist name is Bianca Schömburg and she won on EUROPEAN CONTEST OF THE IMITATION called LLUVIA DE ESTRLLAS in Spain. After, she participate on the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST with the song ZEIT (time). She's very "professional".
