Ok when enough is enough

Ok. I don't know if I should open this topic.... but the truth is that I did lmao and now I decided to go on:

First of all there are some stuffs here that are really bothering me. I don't want to get "disconnect" with the forum because of that.... because I really enjoy talking about Celine and seeing her videos and all that -- but I have to say that more and more I feel like - not posting that much anymore.

I'm really tired - especially -of people coming here and sit on their chairs in front of their computers and spend their precious time to only come here and say bad things about Celine, her voice and all. It's pretty obvious to me - of course - that everyone has an opinion, a vision about things - I don't have anything against it - noway - and nobody will like 100% agree with everything Celine does/did or whatever.... but I'm really tired of only hearing people complaining over and over again - and many times about the same thing.

I really do not appreciate when people judge others on that way. I mean, saying what someone should or shouldn't do ... it's kind of "rude", un polite whatever in my opinion. Its not a nice thing to say.

Of course I'm not looking for a place that people cannot express their opinions - No. What I'm trying to say is that just complaining all the time .... is something that really makes me tired & sick. I don't understand how someone can like a singer job & the person itself -- in this case Celine - and only see bad things. I mean, what's the point?!?!?!?!?!!? If you don't like - so don't like, don't listen, don't talk about that person. I think it bothers others who like Celine - on that case - hearing it - at least it pisses me off. It's not that Celine is a Saint or something - no. Of course she's a human being and normal person and etc. So, as every person she has the right to make mistakes. She has the right to chose what she thinks is the best for her and for her family.

The thing is that from some times ago this thing has happening here more often and it is boring you know. The Celine Dion Section seems to me so un-attractive sometimes. Sujects about RC being the son of Garou, Celine doing playbacks - I don't care if she does and she does it has a reason everybody knows she can sing - and I don't care about either lol ---- anyway things like that - like if we had the right to "enter" in her life and say all those things.... man..... it's really rude, boring and all that. The fact is Celine is a human being and today she doesn't carea about her voice as she used in the past. She made the choice of living her life instead of living for her vocal cords. And I think she did the right decision. Even if I didn't - I wouldn't come here and say "Hey, Celine shouldn't do that, she should do it" ---- OK

I'm sorry if I'm confused. I really hope that things here get better soon. I hope you can understand me.

We can't forbid others give negative opinion. But we can ignore it if we don't like it.

 

Once again, I introduce this maybe useful feature to some of you who feel some people's repeating posts are annoy.

This section allows you to set up your ignored users list.

When you add a user to your ignore list, any posts they make will be masked until you specify that you wish to read them. You may not be able to ignore users if they are in a member group which doesn't allow them to be added.

Maybe some of you will find this feature useful.

tativale, I do understand what you are saying about this whole thing. Maybe you should read some of the positive posted topics that I, 1Celine12 have created and you will be more inclined to read more and think less of the bad things that people have said about Céline.

 

I really don't think we need to use the ignore user feature on here unless we really have to. I mean, that would be mean if we ignored someone just because they gave their opinion on a topic of their interest.

 

Also maybe you should PM Bellamy and Koolan about the complaints you have and tell them that they should do something about this. After all they are the ones who spend their hard earned money to run this forum.

I don't think we should forbid others give negative opinion. This is a forum for discussions. Everyone has right to speak his own opinion, as long as it's not against our rule. That's why I think ignore the opinions(posts) you don't like is a better way.

Also I don't think complain to the complaints will help the situation.

I think the best way is to ignore those member's posts or add them to the ignore list. We can't punish them if they did not break any rules. Everyone is entitled to their opinions whether it's negative or positive and said in a non-threatening/offensive way. Rest assured that if things do go out of hand, appropriate action will be taken. Don't let the actions of a few affect your stay here

well i just switched on today and so far so good where i live the only thing people say about celine is that she is depressing and that i must be sad, well each to there own, my opinion is that she is great and i can listen to her voice all day long so i ignore them, i know that she is a great singer thats all that matters i hope that made sence

Don't you remember my name in that conversation? I was the other one that was accused of trying to get people to think a certain way and that's not true. We were both expressing our opinions and I think people read into our comments. That's all.

I agree with Tati also. As some of you may have noticed I haven't been posting much if anything in the last month or so. I still come to the forum at least once a day but generally I just browse the topic titles to see if I find anything interesting then log off. The reason for this is, in part, what Tati was referring to.

 

I get really tired seeing the same comments over and over again. I completely understand that everyone in entitled to their own opinions and I in no way feel that anyone expressing such opinions should be punished as long as they are not breaking any rules but at the same time its frustrating. I honestly don't care if Celine lipsyncs or not, and the numerous topics about whether Celine is as focused as she used to be or whether her voice has changed and she's now going "downhill" get really old after a while. I will never understand why people come online everyday, visit a website of an artist that they obviously aren't a real fan of and put them down.

 

In addition to the negative topics and comments being made, the multiple topics about the SAME subject get tiring as well. I know the admin's do a very good job trying to control this but there are still sooooo many of these kind of topics being created, they just put a slight spin on it so it appears different. Plus so many of the topics I see (and skip immediately) are the topics that just make me ask...WHY?!? It seems that many of the members just post to be posting and create topics about anything just for the hell of it. I don't have to give you examples of these kind of topics, because I'm sure you all know what I am talking about. It just feels like these topics are a complete waste of time.

 

I hope I haven't offended anyone with what I have said, that was in no way my intentions. I just wanted to explain why I, a loyal and active member of a year and a half, have pulled away from the forum. It's sad...I love being at this forum, reading and discussing Celine and socializing with other fans but after a while all of the other b.s. just gets old.

 

I hope things can return to the way they used to be.

Koolan, that is actually quite a normal way for a forum...I mean it's a step further in its development. We had it all the way on the another source if you remember, the same case, the same ppl (almost) but we moved on.

 

Céline is amazing and will always be. Point blanc. Ppl need not take everything on the net to heart.

I think that Koolan and Bellamy should get together and make some sort of rules about this whole thing so we don't have to keep posting topics about this all the time. I know we have general forum rules, but we need better rules to filter out the bad people. And yes, I know the ignore users posts feature, but I don't think we need to go that far even though I have used it once to block a certain someone who shall remain nameless. This is just what I think, that's all.

I'm very happy about this forum growing, I love this place and I wish all the sucess in the world but I just hope the price of sucess doesn't become to high, like loosing people or becoming a different place than it was in the begining.

I feel pretty much like Stacy. And I don't post here like before (even though I still post a lot) and it's hard for me because this has been the best forum I've ever been. It's a shame, really.

Come more often, Stacy, we need people like you.

This is pretty general forums stuff- it happens all the time, there are always older members and newer members, and the older members always complain that the newer members are stupid and are ruining the way that the forum used to be..I just hope that no one leaves over it, because it's like punishing yourself for someone elses crime..

 

@1celine12; what kind of rules do you mean? Like tightening the rules on what is spam and what isn't? I'm a little confuzzled..

All I mean is tighten the rules around here a bit and send the people that are creating topics that are gonna wreck havoc the same PM saying that this is a warning and the next time they do this again, they will be banned for a month and we the mods will let you know when your month is up. Something like this. They just need to have better rules. I'm not saying that the rules they have now are stupid, but they need to update them and add something about this whole thing. That's all.

nah, you click on their username, and then next to their av, the last option in the list is "ignore this user"
