An idea

Right. So a few days back (or was it yesterday??) I was sitting bored at my desk, doing my maths homework. And then suddenly I had this idea.

 

I know some of you use Live Journal, but in the mean time, some of you might not even know what it is. Well, it's a blog site, but very customizable, and also, in my opinion the greatest (well, yeah) blog site out there, as they have been online since 1999 and...anyway, they're just great. You can also create communities, where all members post, and the entries can also (if you set it) be read by people who don't have an account.

 

And now I should get to my point. I was thinking that we could create a 'LJ' community, managed by me and someone else, where fans would post news. But I really hope we would update it regularly. Also, I don't want to make it something like a forum, where we discuss things Celine. I just want it to be a news 'blog' but with a nice layout, and maybe a few comments at entries.

 

The reason I thought of this is because we need a kind of oder in news...like in regular sites, but more complete. I think a lot of you know how hard it is to post news on your own site by yourself; but when you have an 'army' of fans to help, it's way more easier. We could also make a kind of index to things, so news would be easier to find (memories or tags). Credit to sources is, of course, a must.

 

The only way this would be easier than forms is because you won't have to go through pages and pages of topics with news set in a totally un-chronological oder when you come home from a long vacation. Here you'll have them all in chronologica oder, and also they will have tags, so you could only see the news you are interested in. Like "pictures" for example...click on the tag and you will be directed to all the news that contain pictures. And so on.

 

But, if you like this idea, remember that I (or I hope we) need each and every one of you. If the community will be created, you will need a LJ account to post news.

 

I think that's just about all.

 

 

Oh, and as a btw, in case this forum is the source (which, in most cases, I think it will) we can make it something like "all comments about this have to be posted in ". Again, I just want to make it a news blog (but a very efficient one) and not a discussions board.

hmm..all in all i think it would be a good idea, especially with the index thing. so...if everyone agrees why shouldn't we do this?

we have plans to implement a "portal" in the near future, similar to what you described. it's a lot of work, more members who know html, php are needed..I think it's a good idea.

I know it's a lot of work, but the thing is LJ would make it easier. You just have it all.

 

But if you want to create like 'a professional' thing, then I'm sure it's going to be better.
