Isn't it time for a new live track for TPOL

I finally think it's time for a new live track for The Power Of Love. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about I'll fill you in below.*

 

I can't believe it still is the same version as back in 1994 from the À L'Olympia concert. I mean, shouldn't it be natural to record a new one when A New Day was launched while the other live tracks were recorded?

 

This song is amazing, and to hear it live is just awsome. To discover it sounds exactly the same each time even though it's "live" is starting to get frustrating. And it has also turned booring.

 

I find it so orgasmic and extremely SCF moments when I hear those old performances from '93 when she does the intire track live, each performance is unique. She interprets the song differently on each performance. Too bad those performances are captured in a not so high quality, so we can never make a good cd-track out of those wonderful perfromances.

 

I really really really hope they come to their senses and realise how rediculus this is and at leat records a new live track before they shoot the new AND DVD!

 

*fans have discovered that she uses a pre-recorded track on almost every live performance of The Power Of Love. She sings live the first verse, and when the first refrain kicks in so does the pre-recorded live vocals, and playback starts. This is how it's been explained to me. And if I'm wrong please say so. This pre-recorded "live"-track has been the same from À L'Olympia (or is it Live A Paris) to date. So it is not so hard to discover, just listen closely. This is just something which occured to me a while ago.

fred darling - they couldnt care less about the fans , they think we r all stupid and in part they r right cause there r still some people who believe celine is singing it live each and every night lol!

 

it's just show u how much of a joke this show is , the only one from celine's camp that truely care about us , the fans , is celine herself but she is living most of the time in this bubble that the people around her created and she thinks it's all fine .

I wish there was an option for "live vocoders" so she can sing some crappy notes that gets corrected instantly.. that way she could sing everything live - and I could live with that..

if Celine's voice isn't up to it and is in a bad condition then i don't have much of a problem if Celine uses playback as she can always do it another time plus only singing in bad conditions will only damage her voice, but i do agree if she's using it all the time it is wrong.

well, I agree with you. but I think that if celine doesn't sing it live every day it's because her voice is getting a bit over-used. I think that A new day is an excellent gig, but celine should't sing so many times in a single week, because her voice is losing that power that she had a few years ago. don't get me wrong, her voice is the best anyway, but with so many concerts... Still, the best singer ever. definetly.

My opinion is that if Celine messes up during a live performance, fine. It's completely understandable that she not sing perfectly all the time (although she's awfully close most of the times she does sing live!) I say who needs lip synching and playback stuff. I think you'll all agree with me that we'd forgive her if she were slightly off. I know I would.

I think you misundestood me. I know she can't sing that song live 5 times a week. I am fine with the idea she uses a pre-recorded live track most of the time in AND. But I think it is time to record a NEW version of the pre-recorded track.

 

And I wouldn't complain if she sund this song totally live on some TV specials or even for the shooting of the new AND DVD.

I can't even listen to the live versions anymore, because it's nasal first verse, then the same old recorded version we've been hearing for 10 years. Pick a song you can sing, and do that. If it's too difficult to song 5 times a week, find one that isn't.

Well we all know that she can't take this song out. It would be like taking MHWGO out, it's one of her signature songs (what is odd though is that Think Twice is also her signature song (and the song which made me a fan) in the part of Europe where I live, but I haven't seen her perform that song much).

 

Please let this negativeness chill, coz we can't expect her to sing 20 songs a day 5 nights a week, so I think it is fine to have some parts of tracks pre-recorded. But I am not so positive on a total performance being playbacked, if so she should do it pre-recorded playback some days a week and some days totally live, and do so with other songs too (to save voice). But it is so disturbing when it has been the same pre-recorded track for so many many years.

 

Why didn't they do a new pre-recorded version when A New Day started - think how much passion it would be in the performance with her warm "new" voice.
