tativale Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 (edited) Hi all Hehe I was thinking about that these days.... and after Sept 2001 I guess things on that field has changed a lot. I used to travel by United Airlines in the past and I really liked it.But today, I have my doubts. I heard that British Airways and Air France are really good.I once travelled by Continental I guess but it was nothing like a very long distance... heheh I never traveled by Delta for e.g. Anyone has? I for e.g I'm not a fan of American Airlines.Anyway... which airlines are the best today? Safe and good service in your opinion? Clari Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 I've been on American Airlines (before and after 9/11), I'd say it's pretty good right now, it's improved. I had a pleasant time. Southwest is also a good airline, they are cheaper in some cases! There's an LV/Orlando exclusive airline that I am dieing to try out... aaagh (so inexpensive)! Has anyone been on Allegiant air? tativale Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 I read that Soutwest,Alitalia, Air France are members of Sky something for miles. celines_girl Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Yes I took Allegiant they Fly from 2 cities in my state directly to LV and Orlando and they are so cheap the tickets are from 70 to 100. The plane was even bigger than the one I took with NorthWest. The only problem I have with Allegiant and I believe it is because of the small airport we have here is that the flight that I take from LV to come come I have to be at the airport by 6am. But otherwise Allegiant is really good. Quote http://photos-282.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v51/110/121/57009444/n57009444_30663282_9774.jpg

Allegiant costs $200 round trip to LV (once I saw a special for only $80 roundtrip)... that is so much cheaper than what I paid in AA! They just brought it to our area not so long ago, I can't wait to try it! I was checking it out and the flights always come in and leave at around 10pm in our area. Celine's Wife Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Well you probably don't have any of the airlines I take... I like to use Sun Country, but they're a small chain. angel_christ Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 I've been on British Airways and Air New Zealand. They're good. Especially Air New Zealand. They serve Biscuit and Butter 24 hrs. I remember that I eat, eat, eat and eat all time along the trip back from Australia!!! My dad's opinion : He said Quantas is good too. AllCeline Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Uhhh... I've gotta few. Delta's great; I was on the aieline once, and they had the entire "ATW" album to listen to in their system!! I few with Air Canada a few times already and they were pleasent too; I got cup cakes on that flight! And I flew with Continental; they're really good too; They were showing "Charlie And The Chocolate Factory" the last time I flew with them, and the movie was FREE!! piglot82 Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Personally I like Continental. I fly with them all the time. They give snacks, and free movies and are usually pretty quick at check-in and security (depending on the airport of course). I've also flown Delta, they're ok. I've flown United/Ted and I really don't like them. A while back I flew Southwest and they weren't the best...I found the planes to be kinda dirty. A lot of the airlines now have skymiles and work in conjunction with major credit cards to earn points. I know that Delta and Continental us mileage points with American Express credit cards for example. Also Continental has a "OnePass" program which is basically a frequent flyer program and members earn miles when they fly, get priority check-in/baggage claim/security, and get automatically placed on the first class standby list to be up graded when possible. I think its a pretty good deal and it doesn't cost anything to sign up. OMG...I just noticed I sound like a spokesperson for the airlines LOL Quote http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b119/Piglot82/heartsig1.jpg
tativale Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 I forgot to mention Air Canada ehehe Each time I go to Canada I always want to go by Air Canada heheh to feel in "Canada" already.... lol Hhmm good to know about that .. ATW Cd playing.. wow Delta knows what is good! lmao lmao Quote http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v215/tativale/lildoll.gif"Sometimes we talk with our eyes and it says more than 10,000 words" moiIt's always possible to change! Mozinha Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I only flew in our regional airlines (SATA Internacional, which I thoughy it was really nice, with nice staff and food and everything) and I travelled in USA with American West airlines and they honestly SUCK. ZoraSourit Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I used Lufthansa, Iberia and SATA. Lufthansa had the best services in my opinion. Iberia sucks bigtime. THe only thing that is better in Iberia is that they let you travel with 32 Kg of luggage, while the majority of the other companies only allow 20 kg. But thir service and food is really bad. Koolan Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 I have used JetBlue often while I was at the university. Their fares are pretty cheap, you get to watch satellite tv for free, can't beat the leather seats. The only downside is they only give you a snack and a drink (hey, that's how they keep fares low) but it's fine cause the flight is only 50 minutes long They use the new Airbus A320 lol Quote Please support the forum by ordering through our Amazon.com referral link below. vallier Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 my experience: international: Sigapore Airline: The Best. Good food, good service. You got your own TV, and programs ON DEMAND (on some planes). Love it. Eva Air: Taiwanese Comapny. Really good. Your own TV with on demand programs! (this means you see the movies and any programs you want at any time, don't have to follow the one schedule...) Lufthansa: Very good too! Good food, good service! My only complaint is the entertainment... only small tvs for everyone.... thus i gave up the entertainment on the plane.... but you dislike tv, this is the one for you!! Cathay Pacific: Not very good. though they are cheap. food is ok. service is not very good (they literally threw the napkins before me!!!) it's cheaper but i think i may not fly with it again... and i heard very good reviews of ThaiAirways.... i have never taken it...I flew with Northwest many many years ago... at the time it was SO bad that i thought i was taking a roller coaster.... but my friends said it improved a lot now... =======in australia, try Virgin Blue. It's cheap and hip! You have to pay for the food but it's because the ticket is dirt cheap!! and all the flight attendants are very nice and beautiful and cheerful! and the food and drink on the plane is actually not very expensive. and the ticket is always cheaper than Quantas. in brazil, i tried GOL and TAM. GOL is really good and cheaper too. TAM is all right, but GOL is better. but Brazilian airplane market seems to change very quickly. Varig (the most expensive) is nearly bankrupt i remember. VASP is gone?? People also recommended me BRA and Webjet... didn't try... Quote

Gol is not good, it's cheaper and everything but they don't have a good service that's why it's cheap. TAM is the best one here for national flights. VASP doesn't existe anymore nor WebJet - this last one didn't last more than 2 months.I never tried BRA thought, it's new, and they are cheap just like Gol. VARIG used to be the best one together with TAM but today VARIG is almost gone... they're really bad, for international flights... uuh forget about it. I don't know the others 'cause I haven't tried. I've been to Canada, US the most and once in Europe. Salla Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 The first time I flew to Vegas I flew with SAS and the connecting flight was Alaskan (I think). It was the best flight I have ever been on(despite the fact, that they lost my luggage ) The flight was half empty and the staff was telling jokes and singing. It was so funny. Quote

My experience is (i took GOL and TAM each once): GOL has good service. attendants are very nice. the people at the checking counter are very helpful and speak perfect english. i feel really great flying with them. My Tam experience was not as good. It doesn't mean they were bad. Everything was just all right. You didn't have any impression that made you think "oh! that's good." the flight attendants were expressionless at that time. but maybe it's because it was a flight on 3 in the morning!!! but of course i only took each once. so that shouldn't be representative. maybe in bigger picture TAM is better? or GOL became worse these days? I took them last October... haha! and you see, brazilain flights are really changing fast! so WebJet is gone! VASP is gone! and Varig is almost gone! (too bad, i heard they used to be really great, like brazilain pride or something) i remember there's FLY as well, maybe they are gone too?? maybe next time i go to Brazil i can ask you about the flights!! cool...
