Mozinha Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I have the two songs Ziggy and Tonight we dance and.... oh well, I'm too biased LOL. I love french versions 5245245 more than the english ones. The songs covered by others I don't have. Bellamy Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I don't like it. But I think the world is stone by Cyndi Lauper is ok, though Celine is much better. Quote Please support the forum by ordering everything through our special Amazon.com link Click here. Thank you!
mangust Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I have the whole CD. I can say about Tom Jones's version right away - no way it can be compared to any other versions of this song. His voice ruined the song in my opinion. For me it's worse song on this CD, though the song was written almost as masterpiece itself. Can't understand how he could ruined it so badly. Strange to hear english words to the music that used to be played with french ones. But with the time it gets used to it and it sounds OK. I like "Only The Very Best". Very profounded interpretation. And Cindy Lauper's version. To tell you the truth her version was the first I heard. Much more later I got to know Celine's one. Quote Who knows where the road will lead us, only a fool would say...

mangust Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Here we go! "I would love to change the world" I've been on course since seventeenIt's who you know and where you've beenUntil it's you they want to knowI learned the rule there are no rulesExcept that gentlemen are foolsI order principles to go There is no secret to successAs long as others want it lessIt is not substance it is styleThere is no deal that can't be doneRetaliation can be funI never walk that extra mile I have acquired the winner's touchOf seeming happy with so muchI can be honest if requiredI have succeeded and that's allBun then as far as I recallThat's really all that I desired Oh I would love to change the worldIts many failings one by oneTo be the artist, poet, priestWho feel the battle can be wonAnd I would love to fall in loveTo lose my heart, to lose controlTo break away, set rolling freeThe darkest secrets of my soul Oh I would love to change the worldTo feel my moment's just begunTo steal the march, to play for keepsTo break the mould, to jump the gunAs no-one else has ever doneAnd I would love to fall in loveAnd give you all of me and moreI long to say that I believeIn words I've never used beforeIn words no lover used before Oh I would love to change the worldTo break away set rolling freeThe darkest secrets of my soulAt least the world's not changing me... leenylover Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Well, I would love to hear Tom Jones version, if someone could very kindly upload it for us? But I think the english lyrics are weak compared to the french. I love that The french version is about someone who dreams of being an artist, I love the edginess of the lyrics, it's much more rock and roll! Even though I have wanted to know the english lyrics for AGES!!! Thanks for bringing this subject up! Love Lisaxxx Quote My List of Celine Dion stuff, PM me to trade!
