My song called "Larry King"

Here's my song called "Larry King." You probably will think it's corny.

"Larry King"

By Dana "ACE" Covert

Verse 1: I turned on my tv

And what did I see?

I saw a man and a woman talking

What did they talk about?

They talked about hurricane Katrina

Who was this man and woman?

This man and this woman was Larry King and Céline Dion

Verse 2: Larry asked Céline about her thoughts on the hurricane in the gulf coast

Céline told Larry that she has been there and that this town means something to her

Larry then asked Céline how she told her young son

Céline said he knows and I tell him they will be fine

Céline says that her $1 million dollar check won't be worth anything

Chorus: Your check will do wonders

Just give it time

It will give people moneys to live and survive

That's what Larry King said to Céline

Verse 3: Céline says she comes to the show to sing is out of respect for the people

They give her courage to sing

She says that she can barely sing, but does it anyway

She has had this bottled up inside her for a week and is glad to finally tell someone who will listen

Céline finally sings an accapella version of "The Prayer" to close out the speech

Chorus

I don't find that part of the interview to be a bit funny. She was trying to make a point. There are faster ways of getting people out of those kinds of situations, and you know it. That's why I didn't add that part. I think my song is quite good the way I have it.

Calm down -_- , you asked for an honest opinion.

I love that part. :in_love:

I know I did ask for an honest opinion, but there are others here that didn't think that the Céline Kayak comment of the interview was that funny either. I LOVE my song the way it is.

Could someone come up with a rythm to this song? I have been raking my brain since I wrote this song and nothing seems to come to mind. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want honest, here it is...you would probably be laughed out of anyplace you sang this. You're basically retelling what happened during that interview, I can't see how it's a song at all. Dude, I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of your writing. That doesn't mean you should quit though, because if you enjoy doing it, and it means something to you, that's all the matters, and I'm sure there's someone who would actually listen to this "song."

I would be REAAAAALLY curious to hear this set to music, though.

Thanks for the honest opinion. I was trying to tell the story set to music. I was also thinking about an upbeat tempo. for the song. Maybe think of "IDAN."

I don't think it could be sung. It would have to be more of a rap song.

"Yo, yo, man, I turned on the Tv and what did I see,

Yeah, peep this, and man and woman talking..."

No, really, I'm serious. It doesn't have a rhythm and doesn't rhyme, so it would have to be spoken.

Just one thing, Dana, try this...be more symbolic with your lyrics. Don't tell it exactly how it was, but try to express the feeling, emotions, and meanings of the moment. Try to write a song that isn't like a literal essay or account of a moment, but something based on that moment. Try it and see what happens.

I will do that and post it so you can tell me what you really think. :)
