I saw her in concert in 1997... It was nice, she was very good.

That her live performances are flawless has a simple reason - her voice is very streamlined i.e. has abolutely no depth. Voices of singers like Barbra, Céline, Whitney and even Mariah have this certan fragility to them and this very aspect makes their voices so vulnerable. That is actually the reason their voices diminish with time - the depth they once had is declining year after year, bit after bit. Larka while being a magnificent live performer and perfectionist lacks the absolute profoundness, the full spectrum of emotions, the rawness on the one hand and the edgyness on the other one. All Larka can do is to sing her heart out, literally. But you don't feel the song, you just hear a singer sing. And you won't hear any decline in Larka's voice cuzz there is nothing there that can actually rasp off with time. The best thing is she herself thinks she is "oh so artistic" while she isn't noticing that the French media abandoned her and canned her as a wannabe Goldman with little emotion.

While I do like Lara a LOT and find her to be massively talentled, she simply lacks emotion in her voice.

 

I prefer Natasha St-Pier and Patricia Kaas.

Shure she´s a wonderful singer and songwriter but she´s not As Good as Celine though for sometimes i thought Lara were copycat of Celine and she sort off is, sorry to say so.

Lara has a great voice but breathy and little nasal, but shure she´s good.

she's wonderful..the first song with her, that i have listened was "Love by grace" ....and i was very impressed....It's one of my favourites...
