firebird Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:37 PM Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:37 PM I love her, she is just fantastic. I just want to share this video, it's very beautiful so.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>It's not really my favourite song, on her tour before she sang the song she used to pretend she's a child and talked really weird She's a good singer. I like her album NUE and the live album EN TOUTE INTIMITÉE. It's a great album. All acoustic versions of her songs sung with a live orchestra. Quote

Boy Posted March 3, 2006 at 12:19 AM Posted March 3, 2006 at 12:19 AM Hey, guys! I have a question. Where can I get the songs from Lara's first album 'Lara Fabian'? Quote Love comes to those who believe it...
LVCeline Posted March 7, 2006 at 01:32 AM Posted March 7, 2006 at 01:32 AM I think her voice is amazing. I mean, I've never heard her give a mediocre vocal performance. Her voice is always in fantastic shape, and it's about one of the most powerful out there. Her live performances of Adagio are just jaw-dropping. She never misses a note and she sings her heart out. I have her self titled English album and most of the songs are fantastic. Quote
bgold50 Posted March 10, 2006 at 02:38 AM Posted March 10, 2006 at 02:38 AM The first time I ever heard Lara was on French radio driving through Provence. i though, "This can't be...a Celine Dion song that I don't know?" I don't remember which song it was, but my friends insisted that it was not Celine and it was, in fact, Lara Fabian. She has a phenominal voice, and I've been a fan ever since. I've never been lucky enough to see Lara live, but I do have her live DVD's. There was a TV special called "With Love From Lara", or something close to taht. Does anyone know where I can get it on video or DVD?To me, there is no competition between Celine and Lara. They are both incredible vocalists in their own right. Glad to see that Lara is getting the recognition that she deserves here.Brian Quote

LVCeline Posted March 10, 2006 at 03:36 AM Posted March 10, 2006 at 03:36 AM Yeah, I wish I could get my hands on the PBS special she did. I've been watching her videos on YouTube, and some of her performances are just completely out of this world. Perfection from beginning to end. I'm dying to see a substandard live performance from her, she never seems to be in bad voice. She gives it her all when she performs, and can belt like nobody. To me, when I listen to her voice I get a mixture of Celine Dion and Martina McBride. Quote

LVCeline Posted March 17, 2006 at 08:55 AM Posted March 17, 2006 at 08:55 AM Solaris, thanks a ton for the link to that site! Man, absolutely phenomenal. She doesn't miss a single note the entire concert, her voice just sounds fabulous. I am in awe when I listen to her sing, because she's completely flawless. If you have a performance where she misses a note, or flubs a belt or something I'd really love to hear it. I have really been loving her debut english album lately, there are some great songs on there. Quote
Céline's Blues Posted March 18, 2006 at 02:14 PM Posted March 18, 2006 at 02:14 PM (edited) That her live performances are flawless has a simple reason - her voice is very streamlined i.e. has abolutely no depth. Voices of singers like Barbra, Céline, Whitney and even Mariah have this certan fragility to them and this very aspect makes their voices so vulnerable. That is actually the reason their voices diminish with time - the depth they once had is declining year after year, bit after bit. Larka while being a magnificent live performer and perfectionist lacks the absolute profoundness, the full spectrum of emotions, the rawness on the one hand and the edgyness on the other one. All Larka can do is to sing her heart out, literally. But you don't feel the song, you just hear a singer sing. And you won't hear any decline in Larka's voice cuzz there is nothing there that can actually rasp off with time. The best thing is she herself thinks she is "oh so artistic" while she isn't noticing that the French media abandoned her and canned her as a wannabe Goldman with little emotion. Boy Posted March 27, 2006 at 09:10 AM Posted March 27, 2006 at 09:10 AM Wether she's a great screamer or a good singer I love her songs and her voie very much. To my mind, she's not only a screamer, sometimes her voice sounds quiet and still so beautiful. Just like one her latest studio album '9'. There are many lovely songs where she does not scream at all, like Il Ne Manquit Que Toi which is her new single or n Ave Maria... Amazing singer, amazing voice and simply a very beautiful woman. Lara rocks! Hot lady! Quote Love comes to those who believe it...

LVCeline Posted March 30, 2006 at 05:15 AM Posted March 30, 2006 at 05:15 AM I think Lara puts everything she has into performances. You can tell by the looks on her face, and her body language (which can be quite spastic at times) that she is singing from the depths of herself. I just want to know what she does to take care of her voice. It's very refreshing to see someone belt their butt off without holding back, and hitting every note along the way. She deserves credit for being able to do that. And opinions are relative of course, because there are many people who don't see any emotion when Celine sings, which of course in my eyes is completely false. Quote
