Why Céline is inspirational to me...

Céline Dion has always been an inspiration to me for as long as I can remember. Why? Ever since I recieved the letter that her team sent to me saying that she sends her "thoughts and prayers" I have looked up to her. Even before the recieving of the letter I have found her to be an inspiration.

 

It all started in 1992 when I tried to kill myself. My parents stopped me from doing that and I was greatful for that. I was 10 years old at the time and that was way before I discovered Céline and her music. Then in 2003 11 years later I discovered the true meaning of the song "TTWII." I realized that Céline is telling me that I sholu;dn't give up on myself and to keep going on. Hence the phrase,"Don't give up on your faith/love comes to those who believe it/and that's the way it is." And I use "TTWII" as my theme song every time I feel blue or down about something. I also realized that my parents wanted me to be on this planet for as long as I could and that they love me. I use any song of hers as an inspirational song if I am feeling down or blue, but "TTWII" will always be my theme song as long as I am here.

 

Why do I bring this up? Because I want people to know how powerful Céline's usic can be in a person's life. That's why I bring this subject up. Feel free to comment on what I have said.

That's awesome I am sure that other people find Celine and her music to be very inspirational especially myself. She is an amazing women and helps alot of people wether she knows it or not.

I'm sure that she knows that she helps people throught the tough times. A lot of her fans have written letters to explain that she has helped through music.

in 2004 i thought my life was over. everything became very hard. i changed schools and i had to restart my life all over again. i was fed up of it already. i felt alone...i was always depressed and upset until October 2004. thats when i found out Celine had a new cd coming out. thats when my obsession with Celine started. i started saving tons of pics and finding out more about Celine. the lyrics of her songs also gave me inspiration. it kept me going on and on. at times when i feel like giving up, i always think of Celine's no-giving-up attitude. as time goes by, i feel like my world now rotates around Celine. its like all i live for is Celine. nothing else is in my mind. i guess in a way, Celine and her music saved me from a world of depression. well thats my story

hm...i think i dug out ANDHC, ATW and LTAL cds and listened to them. i think i was crazy over ANDHC album at that time, if im not mistaken...and OH album. i suddenly found out what beautiful music Celine sings. Celine's music still helps me today...as i am still slightly dazed. i dunno what i do everyday...i dont think of tomorrow...i live my life from day to day...no schedule...and im back to the ol' state...AGAIN...as i just lost my best friend anyways...i guess thats it...ANDHC did the trick

I also LOVE ANDHC. The song that I really LOVE from that album is "Prayer." Why? Because there is just something about GOD's children. That song means a lot to me.

 

What I think the song means is that children are the ones that GOD created and they are the future of the world. :cry:

well, for me, celine's music always meant something special in my life. every song has a special meaning... many songs remind me of all kind of situations I've been trough. I listen (and love) celine dion for 11 years now... I discovered her, and now, basically, I only listen to celine. I may listen to some other singers, but celine has that special place. you know what I'm talking about. LOL.

She does have that special place. I think there are people out there who don't understand her like us die hard Céline fans do. They need to listen to her for a day and then they can say,"I understand the meaning of that song", or"I understand what Céline Dionis all about." My sister-in-law and her father's song they danced to at the wedding was"Because You Loved Me." She said she was thinking of me when they were picking out the music. How sweet. So I think she knows what Céline is all about.

1Celine12, i agree with you. non-Celine fans have to listen and understand Celine's songs. i find it hard to get non-Celine fans to like some songs...take my own sisters...i think they do not want to admit that they actually like Celine after reading For Keeps. they actually grab it from the shelf to read it. its practically impossible not to like Celine after reading that book! i was bummed! anyways...i'll stop crapping now

for so many reasons.....because she is a warm and loving person,because she is an extraordinary and exceptional singer,because she helps other people and most of all because simply she is HERSELF!!!!!!!!!!!and you cannot imagine how much I appreciate this!!!!!!!But I think you all appreciate this as well!!!!!!!!

i was bummed cuz my sistas still say they hate Celine. thats why...one of em says she only likes the pics and the removable keepsakes the book is mine anyways

Maybe you should have them listen to a Céline album with you and that will hopefully change their minds. Maybe you should remove the keepsakes so they can't take them and have them as theirs. These are just thoughts.

I can't say I really appreciate this non-fan bashing. It's as if we don't have any musical tastes if we don't like her music. I have a very eclectic taste in music it just doesn't extend to Celine Dion. I can appreciate other peoples tastes even if I don't share them. Why do some people find that such a difficult thing to do.

 

It is great to hear that music (any music) can help somebody turn their life around. I really believe that music is the pinnacle of all human achievement

Understanding is one thing. Respect is another. The way some people have put it here they believe that anyone who doesn't like Celine's music are wrong and that they have to be fixed in some way. Personally I don't ever see myself being a fan, and I have listened to her music but I do respect what she does and that her music is inspirational to her fans.

 

I'm not trying to hold myself up as an example of what evryone should be but I do feel that people should respect other peoples tastes and not try to change them

My comments weren't directed at you as such and I wasn't really implying that they were made fun of but that some fans here believe that only Celine's music was good enough.... if it means something to them it has to mean something to everyone else. Personally most of her music leaves me cold but Moby inspires me to want to achieve more in life than I already have.... Queens of the Stoneage make me excited and happy.... Queen makes me either want to laugh or cry depending on what mood I'm in.... does this mean that you should feel the same way?

Someone had mentioned that Céline is a good person, and most of all, Céline is herself. That's why I love her so much. She's the only celebrity that I know of that doesn't smoke, do drugs, marry 6 people and act like she's better than anyone else. She's real!

 

And she has such a beautiful voice...

I think that's why we LOVE Céline is because of her voice. One of the dancers who is not there anymore said,"Céline is always cheerful." She means that Céline always has a smile on her face even if she is having a bad day. The name of the dancer is Candy Olson. She said this on the opening night live.
