Lawna Posted January 6, 2006 at 12:32 PM Posted January 6, 2006 at 12:32 PM I first learned of Tori Amos from Mona Lisa Smile...I've known of Bjork for some time now, but I was always turned off by her weridness (no offense) Recently I started listening to Tori Amos online and stuff, and I am somewhat fascinated with her music (not all of it) but some of it. She also sang Here There Everywhere, which was really nice, not as articulate as Celine's version though. I tried to listen to Bjork again, but it is just too freakishly weird to me, I was watching the Oceania video, and I didn't like it, or the music So I guess I just wanted to share my opinion and ask for yours Oh yeah, and I wanted to know more about Tori Amos, like her age and where she was born? ...and how anyone can be a fan of Bjork (ok, don't kill me) lol Quote They go crazy for you because they know you're true. --Celine Dionhttp://i830.photobucket.com/albums/zz226/Congenialdiva/myspacelink.jpgFollow Me on Twitter!Visit Me on Facebook!

Leone Posted August 22, 2006 at 06:54 PM Posted August 22, 2006 at 06:54 PM I really love Björks cover "You only live twice" from Nancy Sinatra. She decided not to release it, so Natacha Atlas used the same instrumental and recorded her version which is also good.. (just her vocals instead of Björks)But the song is available on some of Björks cds. Download it! Quote
vivezpouraimer Posted August 23, 2006 at 02:35 AM Posted August 23, 2006 at 02:35 AM I enjoy Tori, she's 43. I love what she does with RAINN as a result of her own rape many years ago. She's a great inspiration. But, her voice is not as good as Celine's and she sort of annoys me after a while. Quote
firebird Posted August 23, 2006 at 07:19 AM Posted August 23, 2006 at 07:19 AM I love Tori Amos. She is a great singer, songwriter and piano player. You should listen to her live. I think live is better than studio recordings. She always plays the songs differently, with improvisations on the piano. It's really beautiful sometimes. If you want to know more about her, I recommend you read her autobiography "Piece by Piece" - she wrote it together with the music journalist Ann Powers. It's one of the best artist biographies I've read. My favorite album is "Boys for Pele" Quote

teetee Posted August 31, 2006 at 03:24 AM Posted August 31, 2006 at 03:24 AM Tori Amoslove her. agree that her live stuffs tend to be better than CD. China & Jackie's Strength from soundstage are totally awesome. Also love her video for 1000 oceans. BjorkI fear her. Quote http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k51/t33tee/Set/Celine/S-Celine-001.jpg
~Lady~ Posted August 31, 2006 at 02:19 PM Posted August 31, 2006 at 02:19 PM I got really into Tori this year I think, but she's always been around. (mum really likes her). Now I simply adore her. There are songs like 'Iieee' or 'Playboy Mommy' or 'Crucify' or 'Me And A Gun' (and the list could go on and on) that I simply can't stop listening to. She gets more amazing with every note. Not to mention her live performances. I think she'll be one of my timeless loves. As for Bjork well... unknown land for the moment. I've heard some songs and seen some videos, but didn't really listen to them. She seems weird in the weird way. Quote

Love, Posted January 5, 2007 at 03:24 AM Posted January 5, 2007 at 03:24 AM Bjork is quite bjizarrrre to moi as well... But I must say that in the world filmmaking and specifically, music videos, Bjork has really pushed directors of her music videos to the apex of their creativity and imagination. Artistically speaking, she is highly unique, highly creative, highly imaginative, and highly bizarre! or in this case... Bjzarrre! Quote
ZoraSourit Posted January 5, 2007 at 11:27 PM Posted January 5, 2007 at 11:27 PM I hate Bjork's voice. Although she is a great composer and producer and has great creativity and imagination, I just can't stand the way she sounds. To me her voice is just not good, not enough. The only song I stand to listen from her is "It's Oh So Quiet". chicagofan Posted April 28, 2007 at 06:04 PM Posted April 28, 2007 at 06:04 PM I thought this stale thread could be brought back up, because Tori and Bjork are both releasing cds in next week or so. I love Tori Amos! She has a new album coming out on May 1. I really like Bjork's Greatest Hits cd. That's the only Bjork cd I have or want. But it's a really good album - if you're even slightly interested in Bjork, you should check it out! Bjork's new cd is being released on May 8. I'll have to listen to that one before buying it. Two other artists I've been listening to alot lately are Rufus Wainwright and Ani Difranco. Are there any other Rufus or Ani fans here? Quote
Melody Posted April 28, 2007 at 06:39 PM Posted April 28, 2007 at 06:39 PM I have never heard of Tori Amos, (until now ) I will listen too her and see what I think. Bjork on the other hand I can't stand, sorry, I think she really really weird. I do like Enya though, and I love Frank Sinatra! He second only to Celine!I like Barbra Streisand, Whiten Houston, Edith Piaf, Tina Turner, and Renee Fleming. In no particular order though. alextrusca Posted May 1, 2007 at 07:32 AM Posted May 1, 2007 at 07:32 AM (edited) I like Tori Amos and I think Bjork is a very talented artist...I think she had a song called "Pagan Poetry" or something like that and it really shocked me when I saw the video, but nevertheless, I like her very much.
