The Power Of Love - Best live version

Hey guys. My most favorite song of all time my absolute favorite is The power of Love by Celine. The song justs moves me more than any other song in the world i can't explain. The power and the strength and the emotion is just magnificent and i love it to death. There have been many times that this song has been perfrmed live, acapella, award shows, tv shows...etc. My question is which version sung of the power of love is the absolute best live version ever sung by celine?

During The last Periodo of LTALT in the end of 1998 and all the 1999! i dont like so much the live-playback version in vegas, so nasal in 2003 and 2004 and now much better the beginning part!

Uh, it was mostly playback on the LTAL and FIY tours too. She needs to record a new one to have live!

My all time fave FULL performance of TPOL would have to be the one she gave on the Tonight Show in 1994, where she also sang Misled. That was about as close to perfect as she has ever performed the song before. But my fave in ANY way is a clip from the 1994 Juno Awards rehearsals, which covers the last 1/3 or so of the song. Celine sounds AMAZING, and nails the ending note. I'll have to find that clip and put it up.

My best live version is on 'Dimanche Martin', it was so perfect! And i prefer in 1994-1996 because after that, only the beginning is live

And that rehersal for Juno was great too. She changed the song a bit.

And I agree there're lot of rendition of this song. And the best ones were sung up to 1995. IMO

Agree - TPOL @ Dimanche Martin is the best live perfromance.

She doesn't perform it live at AND.. i have seen the concert 7 times.. and i noticed that only the beginning is live.. but she pulls off the playback really good.. if you weren't a huge celine fan like all of us.. you pry would be tricked by the playback and think it was live.. but it's not... i also noticed that if you go to AND on a Sat.. she does sing mostly all of the songs live.. but i have gone a few times on a wed and thurs. and she sings a lot of mixed live and playback.. it's kinda funny.. i guess because saturday is a big night.. ya know it's always pretty much sold out on saturdays. But even when i have gone on a Wednesday and she sings mostly playback it's still amazing to be there. and see her.. i couldn't care less if she sings playback!!! I agree w/ you though.. I guess I wouldn't know... not that I'm not a fanatic, but I haven't seen the show. Not all of us have the money to get tickets and then pay for hotel and airline fees. :xmas_tongue:

I need to win some big cash before I can venture off the Vegas... even if it's for Celine. I mean... a kid's gotta eat. Hahahhaha... :xmas_laugh:

I love TPOL in AND. I have been to the show 5 times and each time except for the first time has been on a Saturday or Sunday. The first time was during opening week and I was so star struck that she could have sang every song with playback and I wouldn't have noticed. But every time since then I have watched and listened closely to every song and none of them seem like they are playback except for IDAN. During TPOL you can tell she is really singing. Maybe she is singing along with the playback, but if she is I can't tell...sounds live to me.

Yeah that's what i was saying.. on sat and sun... she doesn't sing any playback... but ya know even when it is playback at AND it's really hard to tell unless you are sitting up front.. They do such and amazing job.. and celine does all her moves and stuff... it's just as exciting both ways... I love it either way... i remember a long time ago when i went she actually sang IDAN.. but since that one show it's always playback. and i love that song!!! I love it when she sings IIC "If I Could" in AND.. it always sounds different every time... Did you notice that? It's beautiful.. did you get to see her w/ all of her different hair styles?? I thought that was the best part.. one time i go.. she had short spikey hair.. then bleach blonde. then long blonde.. then brown curly then brown straight and then medium long curly brown.. my favorite though was when she had the straight hair with the little curl at the end.. did you see her w/ that hair style.. she looked stunning.. I also noticed that some nights she wears a lot of make up and other's she looks really natural.. When i sat front row ORCH 3 right where she sits down.. it was really cool.. she wore natural makeup and you could see her little eye wrinckles.. and she even has a freckle on her left arm.. she was stunning so close up.. i was crying like an idiot!!!! right in front of her.. Ok wow i got really of subject.. sorry couldn't help it LOL!!!

The one on Tonight Show 1994, so emotional..during the last refrain, you could see her veins on her neck about to burst :shocking:

i've seen various clips of celine singing the power of love in fiy tour and ltal and and, and everytime i see it it sounds different and live. at the same time, there's an interview that rene did where he said celine sings all of the songs in and live every night. if she can't sing she won't do the show. just becase the song sounds the same everytime its perfomed doesn't mean its playback. At the same time i'm not saying that she never has sung playback, but she hasn't done it much. Nonetheless still trying to get opinions on the best live version of the power of love.

I would say all the 1994 period was awesome....every live that she has done was FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The version from Live In Memphis, in 1997, is absolutely prefect and powerful!

By the way why guys did you says that Celine sing in live only the first part of the song ? I think that she sang the full song in live in her concerts.
