Celine Dion - a voice to stun. I adore her....but what is her highest note in her range?

In 1996, she released the album "Falling into You". People loved it! But, in that album she suffered terribly with vocal strain and had to re-technique her singing for future albums. She strained up to an "F" in All by myself, however in her next french album in 1998 she easily reaches a G with no strain. On DVD's, when she does her voice exercisies she flies to an A ( i think)

Your technique will depend on your range. In All by myself, you have to use the lower part of your voice....which celine uses in most songs.....she was pushing her lower voice to the top.

Does anyone know what the highest not in her range is?

I read somewhere that the highest note she ever reached was in the song Fly. Dunno though, I don't know anything about these things

I have some information about her range, but this is just a record of the range in her albums. It doesn't mean that it's all she can do...

Celine Dion

Vocal type: Mezzo Soprano

Highest note: C6 (in Fly)

Highest note in chest voice: G5 (in Sorry For Love)

Lowest note: F3

Longest note: 20 sec

Vocal range: 2.7 octaves

Regarding chest voice, she has quite the same range as that of Whitney Houston (E3-G#5) but 'a lil' shorter than Mariah's (A2-G5 - 3 octaves)

However, when considering full range, Mariah almost doubles Celine and Whitney as her range stretches all 5 consecutive octaves from A2-G#7 while the best Whitney could do was the G#5 in her "Run to you".

But, I myself think that the most impressive moments in Mariah's songs were not when she hits those high F and G7, but it was when hit the G5 in "Anytime you need a friend"... The outstanding high F's and G's were somehow significantly diminished by the thinness and lowness of her voice, no? And as far as I know (and believe), a 2.5 range of vocal like Celine's is more than enough to perform almost any song in the world. What we need to take more account into is the emotiveness and the professionalism of the voice and Celine has 'em all. So what more can we ask??? ^.^

i dont give a heck about how high Celine can go or how large is her range. for me the most important thing is Celine still sings and she still cares about us fans. quality before quantity...

When the song "The Power Of The Dream" came out the article said that she could sing five octaves. That was way back in 96 of course.

As lamourpourCeline said, quality before quantity... That's all we both have to say about that.

I think she can hit pretty high notes,such as All By Myself,but Mariah can hit some higher notes,she did Dont Forget About Us,We Belong Together...Celine can hit high notes to so dont think I am sayin Mariah is better.but I do believe Mariah hits higher notes. :whistling1:

I would say what's more important is wether or not the singers voice is bearable, and wether or not she hurts your ears when she sings...

Well, of course, Mariah has a lot bigger range than Celine, even in chest voice.

But, you definitely cannot compare Celine's chest voice with Mariah's or any other singers. Celine's voice is so full, that I really think no-one can outsing her (when Celine's voice was on top).

For example, the duo Celine made with Bruno Pelletier at the Molson's Center "Le Blues du Businessman": Bruno's voice seem so powerful and high, that I was wondering how Celine could pull this one off. And she comes so easily with a voice that is lower than Bruno, but a voice that is so full that Celine just out-sing him.

You can hear it, when other singers sing Celine's songs. Some singers can hit the note of ABM, but it's definitely not the same as Celine.

Or MHWGO : this song seems quite easy, but other singers do not reach the power Celine has. And there are so many singers who sang it (Tina Arena, and many people of star academy etc.).

I learned at the school that a child voice has 1 octave and an adult`s voice(speakeble) has 2 octaves, so why Celine has only 2, 3 octaves?I know that Celine has 5 octaves and i know that I will dye whit that guess :msn-wink:
