Yangedd Posted December 31, 2005 at 07:37 PM Posted December 31, 2005 at 07:37 PM I just saw "My Heart Will Go On" on "Jerry Ryans Pop Hitlist". Celine's "My Heart Will Go On" proved so popular among the singles chart here. Priests have also wanted it banned because it was used by so many people for their wedding song. I don't know what position Celine is in the top yet but I'll post it when she comes on again Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!
Yangedd Posted December 31, 2005 at 08:12 PM Author Posted December 31, 2005 at 08:12 PM They are actually only showing "Irish" Artists, but at least Celine got a mention for being so popular here in Ireland, and they showed "My Heart Will Go On" :D Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!
Krys Posted January 1, 2006 at 03:46 AM Posted January 1, 2006 at 03:46 AM WOW! actually those priests shouldnt ban MHWGO. its the wedding couple's decisions anyways. and it fits rather nicely for a wedding Quote
Yangedd Posted January 1, 2006 at 12:45 PM Author Posted January 1, 2006 at 12:45 PM I know lol. Everyone chose that song for their weddings a few years ago. Good on them. It's perfect and I'd chose it if I was getting married and the priest wouldn't stop me!! Mozinha Posted January 1, 2006 at 01:28 PM Posted January 1, 2006 at 01:28 PM I heard this song was very popular for... funerals.... yuck. But yes, all the weddings I've been since 1998 this song was used... more than once in each wedding. It's cool to see Celine mentioned!!!! She rocks! ZoraSourit Posted January 1, 2006 at 02:35 PM Posted January 1, 2006 at 02:35 PM YAY! That's great! Thank you for sharing the info! Yangedd Posted January 1, 2006 at 03:02 PM Author Posted January 1, 2006 at 03:02 PM No problem. I was delighted because we haven't had a mention of Celine for so long here. All we get is the perfume ads around Christmas. Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!

Yangedd Posted January 1, 2006 at 06:55 PM Author Posted January 1, 2006 at 06:55 PM I wish that Celine was featured more here. Back in 1998 they had the promo advert for the "Let's Talk About Love" album all over the TV and I loved it...It showed bits and pieces of Celine in the studio doing her recording. I don't care about them though, just once Celine was mentioned Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!
Nautanick Posted January 2, 2006 at 04:03 AM Posted January 2, 2006 at 04:03 AM It's cool to see that Celine is mentioned, but for the life of me I've never understood the appeal of MHWGO as a wedding song. A wedding song to me is in the vein of Because You Loved Me, The Power of Love, etc. MHWGO is a perfect funeral song, for saying goodbye to a loved one. It's strange to play it on a happy day. Really, of the songs they could have shown, I'd have thought that Think Twice would have been it. Since it's Celine's biggest UK hit of her career. Quote

babymonkey Posted January 4, 2006 at 09:57 PM Posted January 4, 2006 at 09:57 PM The reason that it was "banned" from being played at weddings is because the church were trying to keep secular music out of the religious ceremonies. It's a perfectly reasonable thing to want religious ceremonies to have religious music. It wasn't as if they were trying to ban MHWGO or whatever from receptions. They just didn't want inappropriate secular music played in church. Personally I am not religious but there is a time and a place for pop music and religious ceremony is not it Quote http://gamesnet.vo.llnwd.net/o1/gamestar/objects/117454_main.jpgCut Price Polaris Force
