i think celine should use her voice less often

well, guys, first i want to tell you i'm the number one fan of celine and i'm not trying to criticize her here.

don't you sometimes feel that celine so overuses her voice that you'll be worried that if she can mantain her magical vocie for the next 5 or 10 years to come?

i mean, even a machine can be worn out if it's used too often, and now we're talking about "VOCAL CORDS" of a human.

just think about it, 5 days a week and for, maybe four years now. it makes wonder: can she really cope with that? don't get me wrong, i'm not questioning whether she can sing or not. i'm asking: whether her vocal cords can take that????

i don't think so, and one thing needed to be known "it's very very very difficult to repair (i don't know if i use the right word :confused: ) vocal cords once it gets hurts." even if you do, it just doesn't sound like it was anymore........

that's why i'm so afraid whenever i see her in AND shows singing at the top of her lungs...of course it amazes me everytime, but it also scares me.

and what's worse, she've recently released ONCP and she went promoting it like crazy in france and canada tv shows and of course, she sang in every one of them.

come on,it's like adding insult to injury!!!!

thought there are professional people to take care of her voice, but i'm still worrying about her. :xmas_huh:

No, she doesn't need to stop singing to pretect her voice. Celine knows how to protect her voice very well. and her voice now is even much better than 1997-1999, cause she's less tired now.

all i want is to let her has more time to relax her voical cords because she's using it too intensively, that's all, i'm not asking her to quite singing or saying how bad she is in singing. i don't think you read my post.

These topics are always like this..we all have strong opinions about Celine and that's why there is always someone who doesn't like what's written..so don't feel sorry for your topic. Good conversation needs arguments :thumbsup2:

We all love Celine and we are just protecting her from negative things.....if someone says bad things about my best friend (celine) ofcourse I'm on my toes...that's what I call being a human.. :in_love:

The fact is that, these days, it's evry hard for a singer to damage their voice beyond repair. Like in Celine's book, a lot of work goes into making sure that a singer's voice is not damaged.

I can see what you mean with the LV show, it could seem like she is wearing out her voice, but infact because she is getting such good rest and isn't having to travel it's better for her voice now than when she was on tour!

I know that Celine says she is less protective of her voice than she used to be but she still looks after it - especially now she is in Vegas

Yeah I agree. And now after everything that happened (RC etc) all those things after her break in 99 she feels more free now, free from this "prision" of keeping everything in top shape, like perfect all the time. I think although Vegas is a bit hard... it got better, she can relax a bit now - there's no time difference, no air planes, no travelling all the time.. I think it's great now and her voice is wonderful now, because as she said on the dvd a new day has come she sings now eve more with her heart & soul :wub: :in_love:

we have the right to criticize celine's performances - it doesnt mean we lost faith in her and it doesnt mean we dont think she is THE BEST SINGER EVER!!!!!

it seems like some people here would like to hear only their opinions - it's not a discussion...the beauty of discussion is that people can express their own thoughts - yes i was harsh on celine due to her poor performance yesterday(as far as i see it) but not because i dont love her - it's the other way around .

back to the topic -i think u r 100% right - eventho celine protects her voice in vegas and sings the hard songs in playback...still it's very hard to perform 5 nights a week in the desert and i cant wait for her to get out of there for good .

Personally I think she should stop complaining about having to perform 5 nights a week and about "Vegas throat" and the bad desert wind and how much she would prefer to stay at home and be a mother. She could have had all that, but it was her decision to go there and do what she does. Nobody forced her. And I don't like this talk about how she was in "prison" during the 90ies and couldn't do what she wanted. Excuse me, but that was what she wanted. Her perception of things might have changed, but that doesn't mean that suddenly all she is doing now is what she really wants and everything before was put upon her by someone else. Nobody forced her to do anything :ermm:

Celine does a lot to protect her voice.

The warm water and correct tempetures and stuff like that.

I don't think we need to worry about anyway.

Someone like Celine, who is so passionate will protect it in every possible way.

You people need to realize is that she said in Behind The Music on Vh1 a long time ago is that she almost did lose her voice completely and wouldn't be able to sing. Also if you don't remember, she was going to sing another song and as the music came on and she was about to sing, nothing. Then she went to one doctor who said that she needed surgery, but she wanted a second opinion. She went for that second opinion and do you know what the doc said? He said for her to not talk for two weeks and she didn't talk for the 2 weeks and volia!!!!! Not talking did the trick. She excersices her voice all the time like the doctor said to. It's true Céline's voice isn't the same as it was on Falling Into You, or the later album Let's Talk About Love, which were both of a very good quality.

But after have giving birth she sees her singing out of another angle: now she dares using her voice not only for singing. And when she sings it is the way her vocal cords let her do it; she tries not to sing too much perfectly. 'Cause thát's bad for her voice!

And btw. in the Colloseum it isn't a dessert atmosphere. They have made a climate control to make her singing 'easier'. This is much better than every day singing in another kind of atmosphere, like she did when she toured...

So this Vegas-thing is not so bda for her voice.

And it has not a bad influence on her records

I definitely think that Celine is less careful with her voice now than she used to be.... but I also think that she knows just how much care she needs to take to be able to perform correctly. It's not really up to us to tell Celine how to care for her voice, she's the artist not us :msn-wink:

How can Celine sing any less than she already does? She lips all the difficult songs in her Vegas show, as well as just about every tv show she's been on the last few months. And the times she does sing, she sounds tired and hoarse. I don't think singing I'm Alive 5 times a week is going to strain anyones vocal cords.
