Kennedy Center Honors

Well, the 28th annual Kennedy Center Honors were shown live on CBS last night.

Every year, they honor 5 famous individuals with a 2 hour program that have graced our lives other the years...this year they were:

Tony Bennett

Robert Redford

Suzanne Farrell

Julie Harris

Tina Turner

 

Very good program, exept for one thing...for Tina Turner's part, they had Beyonce come out and sing Tina's "Proud Mary", Queen Latifah come out and sing "What's Love Got to do with it"...and MELISSA ETHERDIGE came out and sang "River Deep, Mountain High".

 

What???????? Yeah thats what I was thinking when I saw that. Melissa literally SCREAMED at the top her lungs with rasp coming out instead of notes...hmmmmm i wonder who could have sang it better...CELINE!

 

Why Celine? Well because she sang the song before and its on her album! I really am confused as to why they didn't call Celine to sing that.

 

Any opinions?

Celine just can't be there. she has her own show. I don't think she can attend every show we think she should be there.

I don't see any need for her to go to a show where artists are given an honoree award by someone like Bush. She better wait for the next (democratic) president, and she's Canadian, maybe that's also a reason.
