Yeah I do and I feel like knowing how good my students are in mathematics ^_^ 'Cause since I still have them for the next semester I can see now what were the most difficult parts for them and then prepare some new exercises on those difficult parts for the next classes so that they get better results in June :) Edited by emi&celine

Well currently I'm just an assistant in mathematics and statistics for some teachers at university since I'm finishing my own studies.

But for sure next year I'll be a full-time high school maths teacher ^_^

Well, that's really cool. I started being an assistant at 17, and when I was 19 I was now teaching at the university. Good for you, Emi! :)

But I don't want to stay at university. Don't get me wrong I've built magical memories there for the last six years...moments I'll never forget for sure, ever. But I prefer teaching mathematics to high school students 'cause it feels like they do need me more than other students. Plus, they are divided in groups of 20-25 which is quite good compared to the 80-student groups I have to deal with at university

If that's your passion, then go for it! I remember once teaching high school students, and I felt it was not really for me (my sister was one of my students btw :laugh:). I feel more comfortable with adults.

Well I was a substitute teacher at the time, for a friend who begged me to teach that high school class. And yes, it was kinda weird. :laugh:

Well don't know if you remember my story I've told on another topic and the guy that was involved in it...but I'm gonna have his sister as a student for the whole semester...that definitely will be weird :laugh:

 

I can remember having my mum as my teacher in primary school and calling her "Madam" at the age of 6-7...more weird :P

Yeah, you know as I'm getting older there are more and more songs from her that I can understand more personally. There are more and more words and sentences (as well in English as in French) that make me feel something inside and remind me some people I've had the chance to met in my life.

Plus, I don't know if you've ever had the chance too see her live. I do...twice...once in Antwerp back in 2008 and once in Vegas just four weeks ago...and in both occasions it made me see Céline in a different way...she's now at an unprecedent level in my mind and in my heart...definitely unreachable anymore ;)

Yes, I got the chance to see her in Vegas, and then in Paris and Amsterdam. It was definitely amazing!

though she spoke way more in French in Antwerp than in Vegas (which normal of course) I was more touched inside the Colosseum than in the huge Sportpaleis. Céline was really really close to her 4,000-people audience in Vegas...even more than in Belgium. Maybe 'cause she knew that her fans have to save up way more money to have the chance to see her in Vegas. It was like she had invited me in her living-room (well...more or less :P ) with 4,000 other people and done a private show just for us that night. It was really magical.

And everyone does feel that she's not faking anything at all. She's...who she's always been and who she'll always be: the little girl from Quebec who's made of sincerity, simplicity, sweetness and love :in_love:

 

but wait a minute...aren't we in the "off-topic" section? :laugh:

I went to see him today and it was all so sweet, so scincere...and so much fun! :happydance: We talked and laughed and...it almost felt like we were one. We just understand and 'feel' each other, sometimes we don't even have to say a word. All it takes is one look and each of us knows exactly what the other is thinking at the moment.

I was going to post this on the WAAF thread, but I think it's a bit stupid with my comparison, so I will post it here. :laugh:

 

A lot of people hate the Vegas shows. I know that it's been a long time for her there, but they don't understand it was a smart move and it was more of a PERSONAL rather than BUSINESS decision, as she has done it for her kids and I applaud her for that. She was looking for stability in her family life and at the same time being able to touch millions with her voice, as she has been doing for decades.

 

I don't have children, but I'm horrified that something will happen to my cats when we go away for a few days. I have the paternal instinct and try to make sure they will always have food and there's nothing dangerous for them to break or be hurt while we're away. (This is my stupid comparison :laugh:)

 

So, even when I also would love Celine to record and record albums every year and go out and promote them, I know she can't do it, and I applaud her for putting her values and family first.
