Bobby, no kidding time is zooooooming!!!! I hate most holidays because I can't stand my family & no one ever wants to do something with me...soon enough we will all be playing "These Are Special Times" which, she can think that, but I beg to differ...holidays are nothing but obligations, stuffing aside my own desires/feelings/interests in order to do what Everybody else But Me wants...

Happy belated forum anniversary, Fernando!

 

Although I love the holidays, I have also been having a hard time with them the past few years. I bet it's because I'm at a "transition" age, but I profoundly miss that childhood magic of Christmas. It doesn't feel the same now. I wish I could be in elementary school again, counting down the days until winter vacation started, having class Christmas parties, playing in the snow, being so excited at the thought of Santa coming that sleep was impossible. I also wish I liked my extended family more and they lived closer, because it gets kind of lonely being just three people at the dinner table every year...

 

I can't shake this headache. I've had it for almost five days now. I have not been feeling well this entire month, it seems. First the thing with my ear and now this.

Having computer problems, wonderful. The whole thing is going to have to be wiped Friday and I'm going to lose EVERYTHING I have. I have 115 GB's of pictures alone. This sucks. I'm frantically trying to back stuff up just in case I don't already have it saved. Praying this stupid thing doesn't shut down on me in the middle of saving stuff.

Maybe having so much on your system is why it's acting up...I know mine does sometimes but is fine once I remove a few GB's of stuff usually solves it

BTW, out of curiousity, I can understand how you may have braille writing on your keyboard but how can you read what is written on the net, being blind?

What an amazing question, Adi.

Where there would be a computer screen/monitor for you, mine has a display where the braille comes out. There are buttons I press that change the lines so I can read the net/emails/documents, etc. My device is called a BrailleNote, it is made by a company called Humanware International www.humanware.com I think that's the website. Anyway, really good question, thank you for asking.

Del, amen to that! I remember as a teenager when they started playing Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving & how extreme/soon/early that even felt. Now this? There should indeed be a law, it's sickening. I like Christmas music too, but, in moderation!!!!!! The problem with not only them playing it so early, but also with all the other hype around the season right after Halloween for pity sake, let's not even think about Thanksgiving but just gloss right over it, by the time Christmas actually finally does come, I'm fed up/sick of it/turned off/can't wait for it to be over. They ruin the season/excitement by so much over-stimulation.

Anyway, off my soap box now...thanks Del for your feedback about that & great question Adi. Again, my deepest apologies/condolences for the violence in your country.
