Yeah, the forum has been a bit quiet lately...

 

Sometimes when I read some of my older posts I think to myself: ''wow, Claudette, but you can write a load of sh#t sometimes...'' :laugh: I think I can be a bit impulsive sometimes and post things before I think them through. I always loved writing essays and stuff in school and I wasn't too bad at it, usually got pretty good marks for it. I kind of miss it now that I'm studying maths. So it is fun posting here. And the best part is: we have all these cute emoticons to use. :lol: I think I need a creative outlet...

 

I'm happy you enjoyed your party Davey. But you must be pretty tired. Isn't it a bit weird to have a party in the week before a work day?

Avatar was released for a limited time in August as a special edition with about 9 mins of extra footage. You should have gone then. As a cinema experience it was well worth it.

 

It is not available on Blu Ray in 3D and certainly not in DVD.

 

In Nov a 3 disc version will be released. But this also will not contain a 3D print. The 3D version may be released in 2011. Most probably only in Blu Ray. Also to make your chances of seeing it in 3D at home even more unlikely you will need to have a 3D TV. These new 3D movies are not going to be available (or worth watching) with the old red/green cardboard glasses. Specialised new generation TV is required.

 

However if you are a secret millionaire Claudette, if you buy a new Panasonic 3D TV and a new Panasonic 3D Blu Ray Player in December you will get an exclusive 3D version of the movie on Blu Ray in a special deal with 20th Century Fox.

 

Finally having said all that, it is expected that the next generation of 3D TV 's will allow you to watch 3D movies without any glasses at all. Which will be a major advantage. So even if you can afford to do this, I'd still wait a while. Probably in another 10 years it will be worth considering joining the 3D revolution.

Well it is kinda weird, to have a party on a Thursday, but they were afraid a lot of people wouldn't come if it were on a Friday... But it wasn't really late, I was home by 11 ;)

I don't think the special edition was released here, well not that I know of in any case. We sometimes lose out a bit when it comes to movies and stuff. ''Celine: Through the Eyes of the World'' was also not shown here (after they promised us that it will).

 

I just never got a chance to see ''Avatar''. I thought that I would just watch it on Blu-ray, apprantly that was not smart...

 

I won't be getting any new TV's and Blu-ray players anytime soon, considering my parents bought me a new TV and Blu-ray machine when I got my masters at the beginning of the year. And unfortunately, I'm no millionare... yet. I still haven't perfected my mathematical formula which will help me win the lotto. But I'm getting close, I can feel it... :sofunny: If only maths was that useful. :whistling:

OMFD! My dog just ate my mother's barberton daisies. :blink: My mother is gonna kill me if she get's back from work this afternoon. They just started blooming...

Fell asleep while watching ''Mamma Mia'' and had a nice little nap. :lol: My sleeping patterns are getting a bit messed up.

 

I just heard the weirdest story on the news: This one guy took his dog to the vet because he couldn't walk any more and he was getting blind and stuff. The vet told him that the dog is really old and he is just suffereing, so it would be better to put him down. He put him down and declared him dead. His owner took him home in a blanket to bury him. But the next morning when he woke up the dog was sitting at his bowl, more full of live than before he took him to the vet. :blink: I'm having a hard time believing that story...

Yes, I graduated at the beginning of the year, and started my Phd. in March. It is not that special. :P Anybody can do it if they put their mind to it and work hard...

 

When I was in high school I wanted to study medicine. I applied, got accepted at one university, had a dorm room ready and everything. A week before the orientation started I chickened out and decided to do a science degree. We had to choose three subjects and I chose Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. In the end I specialized in Maths. But it is funny, my Maths teacher in high school always told me that I'm making a mistake with the medicine thing, but I never took her serious. Now I'm so happy that I didn't study medicine. I never would have made it. I get queasy at the though of just going to the doctor... :giggle: (sorry Vic :P)

 

Davey, Celine has a way of popping up sometimes. Maybe she is telling you something...

That is some SA singer. She is making a name for herself overseas these days. Don't like her. Not a fan of that type of music. It is not really part of my culture...

Overall average is A or higher. :P I skipped Physics lol did well in Biology though.

 

We don't work with A's and stuff, but with percentages. If you get above 80% it is considered an destinction. I did well in the sciences, but I was not that good with languages. I did ok in English, but not that great in Afrikaans, which is really weird because Afrikaans is my home language... :giggle:
