If it's a firealarm I will always walk arround the building first to detect smoke, if I notice smoke I contact the fire department instantly while I make entrance. If no smoke is visible I'll enter the building but I'll make sure that a possible escaperoute is clear of anything. If I notice a fire, I'll contact the FD and try to extinguish it if possible. Otherwise: run like hell If it's a burgulary alarm like last night I'm always carrying a very heavy MAGlight. It's a powerfull flashlight and it's an ideal weapen if necessary. If I notice something strange the police is contacted immediately and since they are only a block away they will be fast on scene ...
