I feel like crying I'm exhausted, I didn't get enough sleep last night. I flunked a test this morning and I'm probably getting my math test back and its not going to be good. I know it. I just want to go home and sleep. My laptop has something wrong with it I'm not sure what and my computer expert cousin doesn't know either he is going to come look at it today when I get home and I just hope he can fix it. Some menu thing comes up when I start the computer, but only if I restart it or turn it off and back on. It doesn't show up when I hibernate. He said its a menu that comes up only when you hit a cetain key so I'm just hoping its a problem with a key and can be fixed I don't know though. Maybe its just a stuck key? Worst comes to worse I guess he'll have to reboot or do a restore point and I'll lose stuff. I'm going to back everything up when I get home on to some DVD's just in case worse comes to worse. Today is just NOT a good day.

It could easily be a problem with something you've recently installed/updated. Doesn't seem too complicated!

I don't think you should need a restore! Try calling the company your laptop is made by, their help place!

I'm hoping its nothing major, its a system utilities menu and then after you exit it another menu comes up wanting to know if you want to run windows 7 or another program and then once I chose windows 7 the computer works just fine. I haven't installed or updated anything recently that I know of...god I hope this is something that he can fix at my house and its not gonna have to be sent to Toshiba! I can't handle dial up internet after using high speed. Though I could set up a wireless network for my desktop couldn't I? The router would send a signal to it right? I don't know much about tech stuff lol

If you set up a wireless network for your desktop, your laptop would easily connect! Voila, no more dial up. As well as your desktop haha. You'd need to make sure to lock the wireless connection with a password, that way you're the only one using the connection, and/or anyone else with the password.

 

If he can't get out there to fix the computer, then dude call Toshiba!!! or whatever number they have for repair stuff!

Turns out it was just a stuck key. The F2 key was stuck, he just lifted it a bit and its fine now. He said if it does it again to contact Toshiba its still under warranty so they'll fix it. We have a wireless network and a password, I was just wondering about setting it on up on my desktop in case the laptop had to be repaired he said he doubted they'd have me send it in. They'd probably just have me to take it to the Toshiba people here and have it fixed. Anyway its working now so I don't have to get it fixed. I'm still having problems with a couple keys on the top sticking which its the ESC key and ~ that symbol key IDK what its called but thats my fault....I may have accidently spilled just a little tiny bit of pop on the keys one day... though I wiped it off and its been working fine so I'm not sure why those two keys are sticking more now than before. oh well I rarely use the ESC key and ~ anyway. The only reason I'd use the ESC is if I full screened something but there is always and X out option so it doesn't matter. I figure over time the sticky will dry up and the key will go back to being relatively the same I hope. If not oh well, they still work they are just a bit slow to pop back up after you press them down.

 

I do feel better though now that I'm home, had a shower, fixed the computer issues, had dinner and I'm curled up in my nice warm water bed I don't feel like crying now, especially since I have a chance of possibly getting my Celine TTEOTW tix tomorrow

Can't believe every school and college in my state practically is closed but my university there's a ton of snow out and every school in the district and the small colleges are closed but is my university?
