chocolatechip15 Posted April 10, 2012 at 12:06 AM Posted April 10, 2012 at 12:06 AM I'm trying to solve a mystery about the song "I Surrender." Celine refers to David Foster as the producer of this song when she introduces him in the David Foster & Friends concert; I'm also pretty sure I read a Billboard article from 2002 which mentioned David as the producer of that song. But on my "A New Day Has Come" CD (bought in the US in 2002), the producer is listed as Simon Franglen. Is there a second version of the song out there? Quote
tal-sh2 Posted April 10, 2012 at 11:42 PM Posted April 10, 2012 at 11:42 PM I think you messed up with "Because you loved me". This is the track in "David & Friends" Quote "These walls keep a secret, That only we know..."http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u287/bambaplanet/G49272_b.jpgSorry for my English.
chocolatechip15 Posted April 10, 2012 at 11:57 PM Author Posted April 10, 2012 at 11:57 PM I know she sings Because You Loved Me in that show, but before she sings it, she introduces David by listing a long list of the songs he's produced or written for her, and she ends with "I Surrender." David even quotes the whole speech in his memoir (link below), without commenting on that. I thought Celine had just made a mistake until I saw a Billboard article that said the same thing. I can't find the Billboard article now, but this website, for instance, lists David as the producer of the song as well: http://www.celinedionweb.com/celine-dion/e...y-has-come.html So I'm trying to figure out the mystery! Link to page of David Foster's memoir with Celine's speech, mentioning I Surrender (It's also a very touching speech): http://books.google.com/books?id=6vJQwZCIV...%22&f=false Quote

puttybuddy Posted April 11, 2012 at 01:02 PM Posted April 11, 2012 at 01:02 PM I have three different versions of that cd and on the tri-fold cd it says Louis Biancaniello, Sam Watters are the writers! Quote The greatest voice ever! ♥
Trami0501 Posted April 11, 2012 at 05:52 PM Posted April 11, 2012 at 05:52 PM Celine Dion tells David Foster about this song. Quote
chocolatechip15 Posted October 11, 2012 at 12:40 AM Author Posted October 11, 2012 at 12:40 AM I'm resurrecting this thread I started months ago, because I have been so curious forever about the mystery of whether David Foster produced I Surrender . .and now it's come up again because "I Surrender" is on the new CD "The Best of Celine Dion and David Foster" . . Are there two versions of this song?? The liner notes of A New Day don't mention David anywhere . .would love to hear a version produced by him . . though the song does sound like a David Foster one already . . . Quote
