No, it's like a "closing period", it's quite common in auctions... There's no set closing time, it continues as long as people bid. Let's say someone places a bid at 1:58, then the new closing time is 2:08, and if someone then places a bid at 2:06 then the auction will continue til at least 2:16. Am I explaning this in a way that's understandable LOL? What this means is that the auction will remain open (even after the official end time) for periods of 10 minutes until such time no additional online, phone or fax bids are placed on any single item. For example, if an auction is scheduled to end at 2:00 PM EST our software will start the close process at that time. If a bidder places a bid at 2:10 PM EST then the system clock will reset the close and start counting down again for 10 minutes for the entire auction and not just that item. If there are no additional bids placed between 2:10 PM – 2:20 PM the entire auction will end at 3:20 PM EST. Our experience has been that an auction will continue to stay open several hours beyond the start of the close process.Seems at least one more hour before it really ends.
