Should Harrah's Name the Colosseum After Celine?

Well, a week ago, we were voting on the idea of a stamp, but now I have an even better idea. I think, that upon Celine's exit from Vegas, and having had turned "A New Day... into one of the greatest success stories in show business history; I think that Harrah's should name the Colosseum in honor of Celine. It was, after all, her vision to have a theatre that she could as close to her audience as possible; and after all, it was built specifically to suit her; and after all, it was her who drew the 2.5 million people to the concert; and after all, it was Celine that turned Vegas from the fear of being a ghost town, into a place where more and more people flocked to.

 

So what do you say?

Do you think Harrah's should change the name of The Colosseum to:

 

Celine Dion Colosseum?

Vegas? A ghost town before Céline??

 

I don't know if it wouldn't be a little much naming the thing after her...but it would be nice to do something that would imortalise the fact that it was Céline the place was built for and Céline who made it famous.

I think it's an excellent idea! If it wasn't for Celine, I doubt there would even be a Colosseum. What is the harm in renaming it the Celine Dion Colosseum? I think it sounds great! Celine was the first to use the theater and the only one to perform so many hundreds of times in it, it's only fitting to name it after her.

I think it should have been called like that or similar in the first place. After all, they did build it for her. But I don't think they will, not at the moment anyway. They want other singers to come and perform there and can you imagine....Mariah or Whitney or Aretha singing into the Celine Dion Colosseum? :giggle: I don't think so... Maybe they'll rename it when Celine will be old, recognizing the fact no one will ever be as successful as she :giggle: Edited by Teodora

Actually its Caesars Palace though...and actually I agree with Teodora, maybe when she`s been in business for like 30 or 40 years name it after her...not now.

I think so!!

 

If it was built because of her, that's the fairest thing to do! Maybe not the whole name, but for example : Dion Colosseum or Colosseum Dion or instead of coloseum put theater, like someone before me has said!! I think it'd be pretty good!!

That would be great. No matter who comes next, that will always be Céline's colosseum.

I voted no... ehehehe I know she def. deserves it as we all said, it was build for HER! :) But.... I don't feel like I want a place where people get drunk etc related to her name... and not in Vegas.

I would love it if they would name it either "Celine Dion Colosseum" or theatre after she leaves (or even before). But, honestly, I really don't think they will do it. For one thing, it should have already been named this, since they did build it especially for her show. But once she leaves and they have other shows I think they will just keep it without a name. Las Vegas is always about change, and rarely is anything kept permanently. But Celine really deserves to have something at Caesars named after her. Will her store in LV also be gone?

Of course they should. It was built for her....she has a beautiful name.....it's her place and it always will be. She's an icon for Gosh sakes!

Well there are also other Arenas with names of people (artists, etc.), so this wouldn't be much different. Celine has meant a lot for Vegas and especially Caesars Palace the last few years, so it would definately be suitable..:)

Cher probably wouldn't mind. She's admitted that Celine is a real voice.....and Cher doesn't particularly enjoy her own voice anyway.

Since Celine is coming to the end of her residency at Caesar's Palace: I would assume that the branding of the Colosseum as CELINE DION COLOSSEUM has come to the attention of Rene. I just think there is no one more deserving. I don't think there is anyone in the world who could draw a sold-out crowd for five years in a row! It's impossible, yet not for Celine. Edited by Love,

I vote for Celine Dion Colosseum. There is no other name that sounds more appropriate than this.
