So nobody is going to tell me what the BD version is after I asked twice?

 

It's a high definition version where you can see every Céline wrinkle. The DVD version is standard quality.

You should really add that definition to Wikipedia...

Celine Dion is ending her five-year stint in Vegas... and coming to a Blu-ray player near you this December in 'A New Day... Live in Las Vegas.'

 

On December 15th, Celine will take her final bow on the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace, capping a sell-out five-year run of her Cirque du Soleil-inspired, multi-octave circus of song and dance "A New Day..." Sony BMG will now bring the show home for the first time only a few days earlier, debuting day-and-date Blu-ray and standard-def DVD versions on December 11.

 

"These past five years have been a wonderful experience for me," said Dion in a press release. "To perform every night with such an amazing cast of dancers and musicians on this beautiful show created by Franco Dragone, has been a dream come true."

 

Sony has not yet released tech specs nor supplement details for 'A New Day...', but the show was captured entirely with multiple HD cameras, so we certainly expect it to look and sound great. We'll keep you posted.

 

Retail for the Blu-ray is $29.98.

In the thread for the BD you see that they WOULDN'T have posted the news if Sony hasn't confirmed the BD release and they indeed have confirmed it.

I really can't make up my mind about a cover....

 

I agree that pic is fab, but it's also a bit dated (just like the one on the ANDLILV CD).. the RDMH pose on the cover would also be great or perhaps a new shot. I don't know..lol

 

As long as it stands out and has a Taking Chances-like attitude/pose going "Buy me!"

Yep, that's the second favourite one. And the third one would be from RDMH performance. If any of those three pictures end up being official cover I'll be .

why not the logo? It has been the trademark for 4 years!

 

And I think it's timeless!! The back or the RDMH photo is just a specific part in the history of the show! the logo has been the same throughout the whole show!

I wouldn't want another closeup of Celine's face. We have enough of these covers. For such a huge and unique show it has to be something different, like a trademark or something and that's why I would love if one of those three pictures end up as covers cause they represent essence of the show as something extravagant and once in a lifetime. I don't want just another concert cover dvd. It's a special show and it deserves a special cover. How 'bout one of those lenticular covers, that would be great too.

And no, no the picture of RDMH. I know it awesome but we need primordial things...

The gay children (sony) actually plan to promote the release big time in dec. And those fans with their blu-fanatism they're not any less gayer than we are wrshipping Céline's voice in Alone or S'il N'en Restait Qu'Une.

Even if the BD version has no extra footage. High-Defination and PCM 5.1 audio alone would woth to buy it. It'l light years better than DVD + dolby digital.

BD players is about $500 now. Also the PS3. And I'm sure it'll be even cheaper for this Xmas season.

HD version? What do you mean? Blu-Ray is the HD version. If you wonder how HD looks like, check the HDTV videos on our forum. I doubt you can't notice differences between HD and DVD.
