Proof of this is that you’ll barely find it anywhere on the internet, not even on Céline’s official channels.

It's very nice to hear the full version of the song. For myself I'm treating it like a demo and I can't wait to hear it from Celine soon hopefully. I love this song and with the right production and big orchestra it sure will be an amazing song. Every sung snippet from Celine gives me shivers

It seems like this song was supposed to be released along with the movie love again and be part of the soundtrack. This is the only logical explanation as to why Humberto Gatica said on his Instagram years ago that it would be released on Valentine’s Day some years ago. And that was around the time when love again was/was supposed to be released. But somehow this song didn’t make it on the soundtrack of the film. Maybe it’s really not that good in full and they decided not to release it after all.

I have to honestly say that I forgot about this song and now that you mentioned it I just listen to it again. I must say that the song itself isn’t that bad but her vocals are. And now knowing what she has been through, I suppose that it must have been recorded while PTSD got control over her vocal cords. And we can hear that on the entire courage album.

Knowing what we know now with everything Celine has been through, and what it probably took for her to make the Courage album (+ Love Again new songs), it's become something incredibly special. My hearts breaks a little listening to it because of how much pain she must have been during that period of her life.

Yes, now that we know what was really going on with her health we can fully understand why her songs sounds the way they sound. I already noticed that on the Encore un Soir album, but also during all her life performances at that time. It was the year René passed and that must have triggered her PTSD really bad considering all the emotional stress that she was going through.

Yes, me too, but I didn't think anything of it. I just thought it was fatigue after Vegas. Even with her health issues I still think the albums are quite amazing, and easier to appreciate everything now. There was a pretty big change from Taking Chances to Loved Me Back To Life, but it's really obvious from Loved Me Back To Life to Courage. I just hope Courage isn't her last album, and when she's ready she will make more music.

One of her younger sons plays the piano and would be in charge of creating part of the instrumental, and with her other son, Céline discovered he had inherited her singing talent, so she’s having him collaborate as well. According to reports, it will be released in 2026, to mark that next year will be 10 years since the death of her beloved René. Obviously, she hasn’t confirmed anything — I don’t want to raise expectations — but rumors are rumors; they can be true or false. And of course, the rumors about releasing an album in English this year were somewhat vague but ended up being true (the reissue of Unison).

My message doesn’t make sense with what you said, but what I mean is Play Me Like a Love Song. And if Céline wants her son to play the piano on the instrumental and that’s why she hasn’t released it, because she’s waiting for a new version or wants to re-record it?

I don’t think the Play Me Like A Love Song is bad in full as they were praising it and sharing it on social media BUT i guess if it’s really part of the movie. I think it doesn’t match the soundtrack. This song is more fit on drama movie. Not romcom. So, understandable if it’s removed as part of the soundtrack

PMLALS seems to be too dramatic and too „big“ for a romcom among uptempo pop songs. Also, maybe it didn’t sound that great in full, and therefore, they decided not to release it. It’s been six years now, so I don’t think we will get an official release of it.

Do we know if Celine still has to release a specific number of albums in view of her contract either Sony? Or was Courage/Love Again the last one?

My best guess is that it was written and recorded based on an early concept of the project and when they actually saw the final product it just didn't fit. Honestly, the movie is not that good; her parts are great and it's a great concept but it definitely could have been better. If I were Sony I would probably want to hold onto that song and not waste it on a movie that isn't going to do that well.

This is a dark thought, but is another thought I've had about it. Celine is one of the very few artists who can expect a massive sales bump after her death. After Michael and Whitney's passing, there may be a way of thinking about estate planning in the industry for an artist like Celine. This is a song that would be perfect as a "final song." I wouldn't be surprised at all if Celine has been given some advice to set aside songs as a financial legacy for her sons.
