I'm in love with this interview!    The content, her attitude in it.  I feel like it's a good mix of the old Celine we know and love, combined with the newer, more confident/"boss" version.  That first Nununu interview she did was a little "off" for me.  Her attitude seemed so different.  Perhaps she was just tired and wasn't in the mood to really do the interview that night.  THIS interview however shows me a very happy Celine and it's fantastic.  I love that she digs deeper into everything.  Proud of her...excited for her.  I can't wait to see what unfolds after this Summer.  She absolutely deserves to be doing things her way - her choices, what makes her happy.  She may not be doing everything the way WE want it to unfold, but she shouldn't have to.  She has been working her butt off for YEARS.  She has "made it".  She's where she wants to be.  Nothing to prove anymore.  She's not giving up music and she's not caring less about her fans - she's just exploring and finding her new self.  That takes time.  I don't care how long the album takes because I think it will be worth it.  I don't mind her playing dress up and concentrating more on fashion either.  I'm happy that she's happy and I'm thrilled that Pepe came into her life.

As to all the Pepe stuff — not to start anything, but, there are definitely interviews from ca 1990 where she said the exact same thing about Rene (e.g. “The hand-holding doesn’t mean anything, I hold everyone’s hands!”).

I’m totally not saying they’re a couple — but who really knows? She’s entitled to a private life. I’m just glad that this was not the terribly sad, teary Celine who told Katie Couric in 2016 that she couldn’t imagine being with another man. Maybe the grieving is less intense now.

I’m glad she has a good friend, whether romantic or not.

But whatever it may be, it's nobody's business. What bothers me is not so much this entire Pepe topic, but rather that it's such fodder for the lowest of the low of the tabloid trash, all of whom are salivating at this and clipping whatever part of that interview is convenient to generate clicks. Sure, The Sun got her exposure, but at what cost?

I wish they would instead talk about her art. Sigh.

If she doesn't care enough about what people think as she steps out in some of these outfits as she says, then she wouldn't care about people knowing they were together.

She said she is single and that he is her friend which we all knew already. End of story.

I couldn't agree more, It's impossible to compare past and present. When she started her relationship with Rene, she had just won Eurovision, and was just starting her career.( she had fame in Canada and France only)  Of course a relationship with a much older man, that just happened to be her manager, could just end the  success that they had achieved.. People would go crazy, and Rene was very affraid of that. Celine of course wanted to shout it from the rooftops. Now she has done it, all. She is successful, respected, famous and rich..  No matter what she does now, people seem to embrace it, because she is Celine Dion  the icon and diva! Sometimes I have the impression that if celine dresses in a trash bag , the fashion industry  would say WOW HAUTE COUTURE!
Now she does not have to prove anything to anyone. She does what she wants, when she wants, As she said before she does what pleases her. (by the way she has so earned that privilege)
I am almost sure that when she does change her status (single) she will be the first to tell people. Her husband passed away 3 years ago, she is now  a free , successful  ,fierce woman. I do have to say that I find it adorable that every time she speaks of Rene she does it  with so much love and respect! Let's see what the future brings!

My main focus is on the turtleneck sweater. Did she want to hide her skinny body/neck??? Celine we are worried.

She seems more fierce than ever. Making decisions for HERSELF. And not caring about pleasing others. That's the ONLY way to be happy and healthy. I'm very proud of her and we should all strive to do the same in our own lives. Stop caring what others think and live your life for YOU.

This interview was better than I could have ever hoped for. When he said emotional, at first I thought, oh here we go again, Rene has passed, it's been three years ect,ect... but I just see a strong woman who can make her own choices now.

Finally an interview where she doesn't deflect every question with a song
I was laughing so much at the part about René not 'getting' the princess clothes
But I love finding out about her parenting philosophy. She's such a sensible, wise person. People never give her credit for that, but she is.

Even her English sounded like it has improved a bit.

So that makes two good interviews in one week, can't believe our luck

I loved that interview! She seems so strong and in charge. I love to see her like that! And lots of good news in the interview. Can't wait to be in London to hear new songs and btw: her English accent has improved again, hasn't it?

I'm glad to see her confident, assertive, doing what she wants to do, and not deflecting every less-than-comfortable question with a song.

BUT, it saddens me that she doesn't seem to have any excitement about the music. I mean, maybe 5% (tops!) of that interview was devoted to music? And it felt almost like a chore, like she wanted to talk about anything but that. It feels almost like she lost interest in what it was that made her special in the first place.

The fashion show has been fun - and it's causing a lot of people to pay attention to her - but when push comes to shove, I couldn't give a hoot about handbags, kids clothes, perfume, skincare, or whatever it is she's going to try to sell us next. And are any of these people ogling her on Instagram going to translate into fans?

I miss the Celine who would sit down with JJG and his guitar and hash out a song.
I want her to tell us what she's listening to, what she's excited about creatively, what she loves performing these days, what makes her tick musically.

ERMMMM You are realising this now??? 'Oney... after RC was born she hardly ever talks about music anymore! maybe even before, first it was picking her own tomatoes, then the baby poo and motherhood, then Vegas, then turning 40, then René's illness, then life without him then fashion.... To be honest I think the real last 'music interview' with Céline was probably in 1996.

Not entirely true... You not remember how excited she was about loved me back to life in the studio and how she brought in her security and filmed Sia a message to say thanks.

But apart from that, yeah I agree.

She was not that interested in talking music because she's at the Fashion Week and off from Vegas. When it will be time to talk about music, don't worry she will.
But also, can't you blame her for not being as excited about music as she once was?
How many of you are still as excited about their jobs after 10, 15, 20 years? Well try 38 years!! It's quite normal to want to try something different or have a new passion!
