I’m glad Ellen posted something. She didn’t have to do it so maybe she doesn’t dislike Celine after all. (Even though her interviews with Celine are always awkward.)

Well her social media team would be very smart to do it. Celine is one of the ultimate guests of any show

I hope Céline will go back to being on her show. It may not be the most comfortable ambience but it gives a guest so much exposure.

Yes, it is uncomfortable, but I think that brings the best out of Celine. Ellen has brought some great moments out of Celine.

When she sang those rap songs in 2017 or so, I thought it was a brilliant idea. I always wish Celine would do these sorts of games with her voice

I would like a non-hyper Céline interview on Ellen. They’ve always been like she’s eaten a family bag of skittles and is too manic. But then demure, sensible, wise Céline probably wouldn’t match Ellen’s pointless/immature/silly questions...

Good ponit, but I feel Ellen's show is full of this chaotic, edgy, almost nervous hyper energy for every guest she has.Ellen is the anti-Oprah, and rarely goes for the sentimental or emotional touchpoints.

Celine never felt conformable on Ellen's show, imo such an embarrassment of show
adding all the bad things that happened regarding Ellen's workers.

What about Oprah? It will be awesome if Celine will have an interview there.

She definitely has her time line messed up, unless Celine was playing MSG in the 80's and we didn't know about it, lol.

This is really strange. It was late 1990’s (1998 I believe) not 1980’s. She used to be extremely kind about Celine and tha moment at VH1 Behind the Music interview, for instance.

Maybe Rene did most of the talking because of the vocal rest that she was very strict about up until she hit the stage .

Yes, I think maybe on the day of she experienced Rene leading a conversation or something, but she must have known that even if Rene was leading or translating in that moment that obviously Celine could speak English. She would have had to have seen Celine interviews over the years, and wasn't she there during Divas Live in person when Celine spoke to the audience?

Thankfully that problem was mostly in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. And now it's shifted a bit... with Tiny Fey, Amy Poehler, and Kristen Wiig being huge household names.

Clearly, I'm a huge SNL fan. And I still hope Celine appears on SNL one day! At least as the music guest, with an appearance or two in the sketches. Even though Ana hasn't been super nice about Celine, I can still see Celine inviting Ana to participate in the show if Celine does end up appearing on SNL someday.

I am still baffled why she hasn't done SNL yet. Courage was a huge chance for her to do it, I think all the stars were perfect for it. Her team should really work on getting her there.

Ana played Céline like she'd play any generic French person.
Which is just embarrassing, because Céline sounds nothing like a generic French person. At all. A Québecois accent sounds completely different, both in English and in French. Ana could've imitated her with a Spanish accent and it would've been just as off the mark.

Also, Céline is so expressive and has so many specific mannerisms, certain expressions she constantly uses... She should be so easy to imitate if you have any talent for it, even if you can't get the accent right. But Ana couldn't even do that. Most people on here would do a better job tbh.

100% agree. Ana is a *decent* comedian, and just because she didn’t devote her career to nailing the French Canadien accent doesn’t mean she isn’t funny. By no means was she the strongest actor on SNL (I doubt she even wrote her own lines), but it’s not like she’s a serious actress vying for an Oscar for her impression of someone she clearly doesn’t even admire... Nonetheless her Céline impression brought me so much laughter through the years. Even the mere thought of the “More Duets to Prove I’m the Best Singer in the World” sketch still makes me giggle.

Yes, the work is done by the SNL writers....but like with any thing, including songs, the credit or association goes to the actor/singer. If I had to only save two impressions of Celine, I would have Ana's and that male comedian who just recently parodied her Apple Music video promo.

Yes! That would be so interesting. Maybe on a TV program, they're not afraid to be goofy.  I hope Celine could keep up with Amy as she's quite wordy
