I wonder if Céline and Donatella sit by each other and that's what they meant? Maybe they're just sitting together but not actually going the red carpet together. She may be walking with law instead.

Because E! may be further down the red carpet. No sense in beginning their broadcast until the celebrities start to reach them. They'd just be filming an empty section of the red carpet and be forced to have their correspondents fill time with banter.
