I have the feeling that she always  had that kind of personality inside of her, and now she is simply letting it all out. I might be wrong, but I think when René was alive, he had some kind of control over her. It was good because doing what he told, she bacame a mega star. But I feel like right now, she doesn't want to "repress" her way of acting anymore and she doesn't care. Now she seems to really enjoy having no one telling her how to be, she becomes her true self. Of course she is somehow different and even awkward, but we have to let her be used to that "life"... But that's only what I think.

I agree it's almost impossible to be a reality TV star and maintain 'legend' status!

Also, her reputation is better now than ever before, becoming a judge would open her up to so much criticism!

Celine has ALWAYS had this silly, goofy side. For many, many years. In English and French.

Here's one example of many, many, just because it's Condor's latest translated video (thank you, Condor!). Here she is, randomly breaking out into song, joking, dancing around, being silly . . . 3 1/2  years ago.

Wow thanks so much for posting this, and thanks to condor for the subtitles.  Actually, it seems that some of the silliness in the English interviews is a cultural thing.  She seems so much more funnier and comfortable in the French interviews.

Side note - why does she even mention the all by myself note when it is lipped anyway or is it not?

I agree. Once the interview ended all I could think of is that I would like a live performance of When I Need You. She sounded angelic singing it.

Plus I can't see Celine being a critical judge. Everything and everyone would be perfect and great. She wouldn't have one negative thing to say. She would say things like "you don't need me to tell you how to sing, you're doing a good job all by yourself", or " You go girrrl", "You killed it, ...Keep doing what you doing". It would make for boring television unfortunately

And she would definitely be goofy all the time! She is so nice and polite to everyone she would have the HARDEST time choosing which contestant has to go and which one stays during the battles. She could never be ok with doing this, I believe it would make her sick.

The blind auditions and the battles are filmed before the season starts, this the advising. The live shows come with the final 12 people, and Céline was only advising for the battle rounds
