I have quite a good feeling about this upcoming album, and also about the tour ...
To be honest I do not care that much if Celine will have any No.1 hits or how it going to do in charts ... I don't think that she cares either ...
But I care about critics ... it is always nice to hear some favorable criticism about Celine .. and as I mentioned .. I think this will be very positive and personal  collection of songs which the World needs these days... <3

I do not expect a single before the end of june or early july ... if it was not ready to be out last week I don ´t see sense to be out in may ... and yes one can still hope ... but it was toto much of hope in recent months and years and we still are where we were 2 years ago "Sia wrote me songs" ... at least we know album will be out this year

I dont understand y'all what kind of problem you have with her outfit ...
You are all worse that all the critics who criticized Celine about her "backwards" tuxedo in 99 at Oscars.

It's Houte Couture and Its original Celine ... I do not care how she looks as long as she will deliver amazing performance

We are all very critical towards her like all the time ... it's so sad! I am just praying that she wouldn't ever see some of the comments here ...

I always liked the backwards tuxedo - from Day 1! See, I'm not that bad.
But if Celine wants to promote a new song like the fresh and cool Flying On My Own, she should make an effort to look younger and more hip - as she did in the Ciao Las Vegas video or her look during the Kimmel interview. Image is everything in the music world.
Her look on Carpool wasn't the best in my opinion if she wants to promote a youthful and fresh image. In terms of comparison, it would be like Barbra Streisand singing Beyoncé's Single Ladies...

I remember the first time I saw it... the intro was so powerful and then when the beat dropped I remembered exactly what It was and Lost it completely. Then again giving DSB's party history its not too hard lyric wise, but the arrangement.....  so classy for a Pink song like that

I've seen Single ladies performed by Lisa Minelli in black minidress (Sex in the City 2) and it was phenomenal.

btw do not forget that Celine does not want to reinvent herself into some young generation type of artist. She used quite "hip" fashion during promo video, but she also wants to stay true to her class ... I see absolutely nothing wrong with the choice she made for Carpool.

I think fans liking the album is something Celine cares about more than critics liking it. I have a good feeling about this album as well, partly from the little we've heard of the songs but mostly because Celine is very confident with what she has. I think she has great taste in music, she always does a good job at choosing songs, so I trust her judgement, she hasn't failed me yet lol. Also, several of those involved have shown excitement and are happy with what's coming. It doesn't have to be a mega hit, but I do hope it does well, and from the way they are promoting this tour I'm sure Team Celine is hoping the same.

Having positive critic reviews is always great but I couldn't care less tbh. Hopefully, when the time comes both sides are happy. Though, there will always be people that won't be 100% happy for many reasons, and that's fine because everyone is entitled to their opinion & Celine can't possibly make everyone happy.

As someone already said in the L'Oreal thread, the best thing about that Sunday Times interview is that not once, but twice, and completely unprompted, Celine mentions coming up with lyrics / song ideas.

Reminded me of this interview, where Scott says (about ~13.50min) he's convinced we're going to see songwriter Celine soon. Even back then, he said "I don't need to push her, she's already there."

Maybe not this album, but I believe he's right.

What if she did end up deciding to write at least one song and that's why it took her a little longer to release the album?

She has to be mentioning this for a reason when she didn't do it in the past. Just like she's talked a lot about ballet now because it's something she is doing at the moment.

Fair observation, and I suppose it's a possibility. I'd say it's remote though, given the amount of material she gets from established songwriters / proven hitmakers, I worry that even if she did try something for this album, it may not make the 12-song cut. She and/ or Sony might get cold feet.
I think if we're to see her own songs, it's far more likely to be on a French album first.
