OMG that's sad...
But I'm so glad with all the success they had all these years...
and so many countries now have a production of this musical...
it's rumored that later this year, will open one in Brazil too! I can't believe!

OK but why hasn’t she gone? Come on, Céline! You have 2 weeks before the curtain comes down.

"Her music publishers, her lawyers, her backup dancers, her makeup artists, her physician from Canada, her sister went to see the Montreal production," Mindelle shared. "And they all say the same thing, that she would absolutely love it."
[…]
"There was one week, Billy Eichner, Neil Patrick Harris, Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Margot Robbie, Lorne Michaels from SNL came," Mindelle recalled. "It was so cool, it changed our lives. Connie and I got to audition for SNL."
It even led to a subsequent collaboration with Robbie, who reached out after seeing the show.
"We worked on my next musical together," she added, referencing The Big Gay Jamboree. "There was a moment in time where every single celebrity, Matt Bomer, Cara Delevingne, they were all here in the audience, sneakily singing 'My Heart Will Go On' with us."

I guess her inner circle is more clued-in than we think on what Celine related things are going on in the world.

I saw it in New York back in Dec '24. It was hilarious and the cast was amazing. The show felt very intimate and interactive, I sang along to every song. I'm glad her team and family loved it, it is very much on brand with all the Celine-isms. I particularly remember loving the nods to various real-life Celine moments, like the "Who let the dogs out / Who let Celine Out?", reference, a call back to A New Day DVD. I got myself a Celine F*** Dion cap from that too! Sad it closed here in NYC.

It is great news indeed! The show has such a success. So happy for the creators who thought as a fun play for themselves. But now, such an exposure in all directions !

Is there any chance that at some point it translates into a proper Broadway show, unless on a bigger stage, it looses its appeal ?
I am wondering why they stopped the NYC original show as it seemed to be successful so why not continuing if the box office was good.

I think the concept of the show asks for a small theater with simple/low cost stetics... I don't know if this would translate to a bigger venue, and super production...
