My country doesn't participate this year so our national TV channel doesn't broadcast semi finals... only the final on Saturday. However I watched the the first semi tonight and I think this year the songs seem very weak. I love the stage and the whole presentation!

My favorites are The Netherlands and Hungary!!

Too bad I can't vote this year.

Been avoiding to check who qualified in the 1st Semi until I watched the show ... but haven't been able to on my tablet ... so had to spoil myself by reading about the results ...

So glad for the Netherlands ... happy for Valentina ... and so sad to see that Suzy/Portugal did not make it through ....

2nd Semi for tomorroe should be interesting!I

OK, I watched the semi finals yesterday. And Belarus made it through to the finale, with this unbelievable mambo jambo song and this guy Teo  - for f***'s sake why he moves like he's in desperate need of anal sex with him being a loud moaning bottom?? :wacko:  I was really confused the song made it through.

And the girl from Portugal seemed OK to me, bad she didn't make it :down: But the song i liked the most was in the first semi finals, it's called 'Bake That Cake', they failed to enter the finale but i really loved the song, it's kinda funny :) It was from Latvia, afair.

And Conchita looks a bit like... Celine Dion :giggle:

btw after the two semi-finals this week three countries are considered the bookies favourites to win the contest

- Sweden (obviously) :wink:
- Austria (she totally killed it yesterday)
- the Netherlands (that's a surprise)

Armenia, the UK and Denmark all dropped in the ranking

we're in for a treat tomorrow :rolleyes:

Gonna vote The Netherlands tonight! My absolute favourite this year (just like last year, haha),

I like the refrain from Germany, and it's a bit ironic that they once more send a girl with this singing "technique" - but last time they won with this Lene (or what her name was).

The one I think will win is Austria for obvious reasons - stands out, PR (with an R for reactions), and a well produced song (there are a handfull well produced songs this year, Armenia being another one).

They say Sweden is topping the lists right now... but I doubt we'll win... There's something too phony, shallow and - attempting to be - polished about it. Altough I must say when the last refrain begins there's a quite epic feel to it.

The audience sang along with both Austria and Sweden.

Austria got a standing ovation..... Is it hard to guess who'll win?

There's a lot of good songs this year, with a very retro sound.... too bad Russias refrain was so bad, their verses were really good!

So. Conchita WON. Good for her fans, right?? :)  Conchita's reaction was pretty much like Celine's reaction back 26 years ago. I thought Conchita would get a heart attack, seriosuly.

The song from the Netherlands sounds TERRIBLY SO f****** MUCH like Sting's 'Every Breathe You Take' :giggle: :-D
