I know that her voice on the LMBTL album is not perfect like in the 90s, but her raw/raspy voice fits the album and don't forget her situation at that time (Rene's illness/her voice (SPS)).

Nahh… she recorded that album before Rene’s illness returned. Also, the SPS might’ve been there in select moments but she was hitting INSANE notes and vocals with clarity in that era when she wanted to.
She did the “bedroom, dry vocals” because she wanted to mimic Adele or Sia. In my opinion it wasn’t a good decision but I don’t think it was because she wasn’t able to sound like herself, at that time it was strictly a deliberate choice whether we agree with it or not.

True! That bedroom voice was too much. I like it when she does that before 2011 for outros only. It really sounds great

I think SIA and Celine did a great job with LMBTL. It should have been a hit for Celine, but Sony didn't support it. I think the problem was that they didn't know what to do with Celine's next English album and Celine was also tired of the perfect singing Celine and that's why she loved Adele.

Wdym? I dont think it was the singing. Also, I remember the song verry well and I wasnt a fan and only 11, in Romania. Most of my friends know this song. I think it was a hit even not charted.

The album was very successful in the uk even going platinum and giving her a top 20 hit ! It was also quite successful here in Canada ; multi -platinum.
The USA it didn’t even go gold, which is a bit bonkers to me .

I saw a post from team Celine on YouTube celebrating LMBTL… with pictures of 1997
Anyways, not one of my favorite albums. I remember feeling like it was dated right upon release. Unlike most fans, I like the non pop part better. Shout out to At Seventeen, Thankful and Overjoyed.
