I just watched this from the second concert in Anvers.

During "River Deep Mountain High" the usual big note which is an F5... this time she hit the F5 and then she climbed up to a G#5!!! And then she repeated the note after the very last "babyyyyy"

she was on fire!!!

Call me negative but to me it makes no sense to only perform 4 songs of the smash album that is 'Sans Attendre' during the f****** 'Sans Attendre Tour'. What makes it worse is that she performs 2 lipped tracks from Vegas as well as 'All By Myself' and the inevitable duo of 'Love Can Move Mountains'/'River Deep-Mountain High' which are also part of her Vegas setlist. Could someone also inform her that she has a new English album out now which is still inside the Top 10 of French album charts? She said she doesn't want to sing the same songs over and over, so why in a setlist of 26 songs there are only 6 new recordings?:whistling: As I said, nothing of that makes sense to me. She does sound great, it is admirable that she goes for such a long setlist and I always hope the best for her... However, I see no progress here.

To me, this is a much better setlist, and all I did was take out the lipped Vegas songs and put original French songs in their place ('Sans Attendre' material):
01.Ce N'etait Qu'un Reve
02.Dans Un Autre Monde
03.Parler A Mon Pere
04.On Ne Change Pas
05.Destin
06.Immensite
07.Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour
08.Je Crois Toi
09.La Mer Et L'enfant
10.Celle Qui M'a Tout Appris
11.Si Je N'ai Rien De Toi
12.Tout L'or Des Hommes
13.Je Sais Pas
14.S'il Suffisait D'aimer
15.L'amour Existe Encore
16.Attendre
17.Breakaway
18.Water And A Flame
19.Loved Me Back To Life
20.Love Can Move Mountains
21.My Heart Will Go On
22.Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore
23.Le Miracle
24.Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas

You're not negative you're realistic, and show some common sense ^_^ To me, it stopped to make sense since years ago. I don't even know how to put on words what I think of the fact that they're not including the song "Attendre" in a tour which is *supposedly* especially and above all about an album called "Sans ATTENDRE" :giggle:

Btw you're setlist is nice but she can let go LCMM... And I would replace Dans un autre monde and Destin for Incognito, Des mots qui sonnent and Je danse dans ma tête. I knew this new arrival medley wouldn't have much days of glory  :pinch:

I put these inevitable songs cause I didn't want to make my ideal setlist, which would definitely NOT include 'Love can move mountains'! I tried to make a setlist that is close to reality but with some common sense, hence I included songs from the album that is supposed to be promoted! :pinch: The idea of ''Attendre'' being followed by 'Breakaway' is my favorite part. :P ... I'm such a dreamer!

I can't believe that even the french fans are being harsh with Céline's concert yesterday, read the comments in their facebook page: lack of emotion, karaoke singer, the concert was plain and dull, automat singer mode ON, no contact with the public, ticket prices are not worth what she delivered...

Even the press is stating the same conclusion we've known here since ages: Las Vegas has kicked the magic of her concerts, the emotion she had in the 90's when she performed her songs and she really felt them. But today... well I've not been there, but it seems many french fans agree that she doesn't seem to feel the songs like once she did. Thank that to Vegas and the 10 years she's been singing the same songs one after anothe

Now that's sad.

My best friend was there and said it was the best Celine concert she's ever been to.

That's sad. I agree she's not the same performer she was at LAP, but her voice is in top shape which is important and, taking out the Vegas lipped songs, the setlist was very impressive! I'm sad for the Plamondon Medley though. It was so good, unexpected and fans loved it!!!!

This is rich coming from a fan who hasn't seen this tour nor her Vegas show. I've been to both, and I say with 100 percent confidence that  the magic is still there. Last night was the best show I've ever seen. The audience loved her. The standing ovations were incredible and there was definitely a connection with the audience. I will not sit back and let people spew crap that is not true. Like her or not, she was in top top form last night. Just because her setlist is not to your liking doesn't mean that she didn't blow the roof off of Bercy last night.

The audience clearly loved the lipped Vegas songs. Suck it up folks, she's not doing them for you but for the thousands of other people in the stadium.

By the way, is this even called the Sans attendre tour? None of the merchandise says it is.

Et de plus...
That article did not call her a karaoke singer but was  the fact that people sang along with her.  People should check their French before sommarizing.

That's why I said "the french fans", and "the press", not me, Alex  I didn't say I word about her voice. I absolutely know she is in top shape with her voice. But what some fans notice is the lack of emotion when she tries to feel and make you feel the songs. And to me, that emotion has clearly gone since she's in Vegas, but above all, in certain songs that have been performed to boredom since 2003 (i.e. PQTME, TPOL or MHWGO)

But just in case you think I'm making this up I will quote some of the comments I've read in reaction to this article in Paris Match http://www.parismatc...ine-Dion-538213

Quote

And TRH asked in facebook, do you agree with this mixed review?

Some answers from fans who attended the show:

Quote

Some more:

I misread your post, for that I apologize. Still you gloss over even the postive things that you've taken the time to quote. But I stand by my account of thr concert. There will always be those that live in the past. If only we could time travel,  but still people would complain.

Of course she can't please everybody, we all know that and its pretty obvious. And I for one find quite silly those who are focusing their complaints about the stage if it was a central one like in the TCWT or not. But I can fully understand those who are saying that she has the air of a "robot Celine" these days, singing one song after the other as if she had some rush to be done with it and that's all. That's clearly a consequence of her Vegas shows since 2003. You can't fake that, either you are in the stage with all your body and soul, or you're not, and people notices that. Maybe she didn't feel good that day, or was tired. She's human after all.

However, it's been YEARS since we're discussing this matter over and over again, and we can see its becoming more and more evident each concert she does. I haven't been there, but I have a pair of eyes and ears, and I can see in the videos if she's feeling the songs or not, just like everyone else.

Solution? Change the damn same old repertoire once and for all, both in english and french concerts. There's only one song in english and french which both publics always expect and wouldn't forgive her not to perform it: PQTME in french and MHWGO in english. The rest of the setlist can be redone from beginning to end, and I'm sure nobody would tear their hairs if she wouldn't perform TPOL or BYLM, Destin or Dans un autre monde for a while and she mainly presented songs she hasn't performed in years (as well as totally unknown ones).

She had a new french album, and yet only 4 new songs were performed yesterday. Destin, Dans un autre monde again? What are they doing there, she had just performed them 5 years ago? And before that, also in 2005, and before 2005, also in 1999..... and so on. Put them on a medley and get rid of them! Give space to the new material!

Where is A Cause? Je Lui Dirai? Contre Nature? Je t'aime encore? All of these were french singles not so long ago! Yet she has never performed them in her french concerts :pinch: .

And what about Des mots qui sonnent, Je danse dans ma tête and Incognito? Its not a sin to include these in Paris, like she did in Quebec, instead of singing here LCMM and RDMH (what the hell are these doing here, in a french concert?). And if she were to include a couple of songs that had never been singles, like En attendant ses pas or Cherche encore (to put an example, name whatever you want) to freshen up her concert and herself, nobody would die for this. But surely it would be an oxygen valve for her!

All in all, to me its clear she needs to take a rest from those songs, before these songs take away all the magic that once was with them :)

Even if Celine hadn't been in LV for so long performing - and instead touring the world - she STILL would have been performing these songs that people are moaning about. Most of these songs are what audiences go to hear. Its only the few fans (comapred to worldwide figures here i mean) that notice things more, read into situations more etc. She will never satisfy her die-hard fans over setlists etc. I personally hate MHWGO but whenever i'm at her concert and hear people's reaction to it, i enjoy it.
She needs to rest her voice during concerts now - lipping a few LV songs means she can resist it. Everyone was so happy when she sang WDMHBN in LV and now people are moaning about it. Really?? Not everyone going to antwerp/bercy watch and listen to bootlegs etc from LV. In London 2008 the people i was sat with were surprised she sang RDMH - and enjoyed it. Sums it up.
I really wish people would justenjoy seeing her live in concert in this part of the world - cos there's some of us who weren't able to go. Think yourselves lucky people. Please??

I have just noticed the L'amour existe encore is not in the setlist... How could they not include one of her greatest hits like that?! :wtf:

The setlist is better than ever but of course, it could include more new songs (at least Le Miracle should STAY!) and WDMHBN, ABM, IACBTMN and TPOL should be at least out... I just hope that at least Le Miracle will come back. Why the hell they cut it out? It was nice for the ending...

As for the dull and plain show, the thing that the worst thing with Celine during these concerts as well as during shows is Vegas are the robotic speeches which are so boring. Even though Celine says she is really close to us etc she is not that much cause she is repeating herself over and over again and we all know it. My mother didn't listen to any of the bootlegs and when she attended the show in Vegas twice she noticed that at once... I don't say that she has to say sth original every night but at least not repeating word in word the same speeches because it just shows how superficial and artificial it is....

Come on guys, the stelist is amazing! I think we've got the best setlist in years! For the old english hits, I am happy she kept them for the casual fan. I went to the concert of 22 november with my sister. She likes Celine, but is not a die hard fan and she loved those songs! I didn't find Celine robotic at all, for me it was al back to the nineties and much much nicer than the also great concert in 2008.

In my opinion "Where Does My Heart Beat Now" is the strongest part of the show. Celine does a great work and it's kind of reminiscent of her early years as images of her early perfromances appear on the background. It was a touching moment for me.

Some people seem to be never satisfied and that's really really sad, especially for them, because they will never enjoy as much as the rest do. My friend was with me in the concert, she loves Celine but is not a crazy fan, she is not in any forum, or goes online to see videos from concerts but she was amazed with this show, praising Celine's voice, style, passion, and I can assure you that everyone around me felt the same, I saw their faces.

My only complaint is that it was too short, I could have been there two more hours
