This has got to be the longest running positive thread in "discussions" in a long time. I'm seriously loving this.
I also cannot thank enough the person who translated...this forum is easier/better because of people who will tell us what she is saying...Thank you, merci!
And LOL to the not-so-perfect-in-French-fools like me line. I'm in that boat for sure.
I think she does indeed do so much that is elegant and gracious. I think often, now that I can no longer see, how would I know if she just walked in, or came up to me etc. And no sound at a train station? For a blind person, it may as well not even be on, but that's because, if the trains there are as loud as they are here, you couldn't hear anything.
I find it so cute their little argument between whether the company is more like Target or Best Buy. The fact that she doesn't really quite seem to know the difference is kinda cute.
And seeing her agonize about speaking Japanese to the Chinese girl...she tries so hard and wants it all to be so right/perfect...She's so perfect...I do not see how anyone can be upset at her and not love her...I do!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing, for translating, and for the overall good spirit of this topic. Let's keep it going, and here's to many more just like it...and to many more hilarious moments with our Celine!

Great to see this.
I told my friend ( who is not a Celine fan) about this. She was amazed how natural she really is. She really liked it.
It's nice to show people how normal en natural Celine is.

Slightly off-topic, but congrats to Montreal's newly elected mayor, Valérie Plante!
Took them 375 years... but Montreal is now the largest city in North America with a woman at the helm.
And I say slightly off-topic because, well, here she is at Schwartz's:

Happy 90th birthday to Schwartz's!
Here's a radio interview with Frank Silva from earlier today, with a little Celine shout-out.

Today's discovery: new street art, just across the street from Schwartz's

That's Celine serving smoked meat, Leonard Cohen at the Main (a competing deli across the street, it was his fave, and apparently Rene & Celine's too, until they invested in Schwartz's). Also there, references to a few other landmarks on that block - La Vieille Europe (grocery store) and Ripples (ice cream).
If you're in town and would like to check it out - it takes up a good portion of the sidewalk just across the street from Schwartz's. A nice diversion while waiting in that never-ending line to get in!
