Mariah's Merry Christmas has sold about 2m copies more than Celine on a worldwide basis - for e.g. in Asia, Merry Christmas sold some 5m copies. These Are Special Times barely sold 1 fifth of that. In Canada however, These Are Special Times was Celine's fifth diamond album, Merry Christmas sold barely a quarter of that.
Worldwide These Are Special Times has sold about 11-11.5m copies, compared to around 13m for Mariah's Merry Christmas.
The gap between the two was once over 100,000 copies - now, its shrinking each year. I hope that Celine can hold on for one more year!

Like I said, that would be great to have their current and respective Xmas album sales (and not shipments) for the European and Asian continents backed up by facts and proofs if possible.
