Ok, now we all agree, can we go back venting in the topic we're not invited in anymore?...cause this apartheid is all but fun without any fuel to comment on. It's like speaking to ourselves like people in mental hospitals. And I'm sure it's not healthy either for the positivists...you know, too many plus charges in the same topic, and it's bound to implode in jamy gooey bubblegum slime cheezy crap. They need their negativists in their balance as much as we need them.

my complaint:
I detest All By Myself. Only part I like is the 3 words before ANYMORE and half of the song AFTER the big note. The rest is very nasal, no power to me, and the ending? WTF? Her voice dies as if she is sick, thats lame! Thats not the Celine I want to show off to my family :/ Thats the Celine I want to make soup for! And the highnote, I didnt like. They should have used the playback version, it had more umph and had nice quality and it was a thick powerful note, like the one she did live from this tour. Ever since I heard that version I had wished they would change it, at least that last note, but no, wah.
I am not trying to be a dick for no reason about Celines voice. Truth be told, she did amazing performances there in the North Eastern part of the US, lol! NYC, DC<3, in canada OTTAWA!!<3

The rest of the dvd is good/standard. I expected more, but am not really very dissapointed either. I do wish they would have done the best of the best and I would have chosen the performances, hahaha xD

I am greatful for all of these releases but everyone will always have one complaint or another. When we heard the boston show on youtube we knew it wasnt going to be a top vocal performance dvd from Celine because those wern't her best nights, period. I knew that.

I also wanna add I find it funny that people who were/are complaining about the dvd are now complaining about this thread, hahaha, I think you guys just really enjoy complaining sometimes haha!

The only good thing is the documentary. The Taking Chances tour
we experienced live and on youtube, because they managed to rip it to less than its core.
They (the other thread people) don't have good things to say about this release, and that's the funniest thing there now.

They are even MORE pissed than us!

When Live in Las Vegas was released and I finally got it in my hands
I had mixed up fellings, but one thing is for certain... I cried... of anger!

I know many people who were about to do the same thing.

It's not news to us what they do to her shows and it happens, yet again.

What to do? Cry again? Certainly not cause I'm used to this already.
It's just plain sad, just it... because these dvds will be a display of Celine for
generations to come and they are not her full persona!

the only complain I can think of now is that it seems they have completely filtered the audiencesounds. And that is stupid, because we are talking about a live concert.. I hope it is not that polished and that it is really worth the wait!

They didn't filtered the audiences sounds...

There is no audience sounds in songs like "power of love" because the sound you are hearing is not coming from the band on the stage or Celine's mouth... It's not even the las vegas audio. It's a new studio recorded one, band and voice to make it sound like it's different from the las vegas audio... She entered studio with a flat screen in front of her and sung to her mouth on the screen, just like a cartoon, amazing!

She should win a Grammy for this!

Now... there are live songs like River deep and my love. On these ones you can hear the audience. Only the ones where she post- recorded her voice (to cover the las vegas track) is when you don't hear a clap or scream from the audience.

Somehow i agree now. The thread has become so boring without those complains. I hated them yesterday and today i love them  

And the most funny thing is that those who complained about the complainers still do come here and read this thread Weren't they tired of us? Then what are they doing here?

Also, this thread has already 875 views in less than 24 hours... it cannot be that annoying and our "complaints" (I call that to say the truth or to be HONEST instead) can't cause such disturb if they keep reading here the comments!

Why are all the songs dubbed with the Montréal/Boston DVD version even when they are sung in other parts of the world???? And what happened to tpol it was live in theatres!!!!!!!

Yeah mirage You know, I like to participate everywhere and in both threads in this case, but I've been obliged to "divide" my opinions with this decision. So critics will only be posted here, and "positive" comments only in the happyland thread If they are more comfortable and believe they will feel better just praising, boasting and kneeling down before every release and action that Sony does, go ahead, they will have that!

as much I love the releases, they could handeld things way better...
they had freaking 2 years of time but it took them so long just because they had to dub all the songs.

if celine recorded the live vocals before the tour (just like madonna always does) and use the new vocals as playback, they wouldnt have to dub things, and it would be a lot more fun to watch live. And they dont need to delete all the audience noises then.

and dont get me started on the topic: English Montreal songs, i  have no words for that. They had time enough to really make 2 dvds, otherwise they just could put the 'best' songs from all over the world on 1 disc.
but this is just stupid, that when you going to watch the Montreal show, RDMH etc will just be exact the same. Isnt it the purpose with 2 different shows, to also have different songs? Even its a tiny bit different, an note, adlib whatever...

But of course! Could it be that hard to do? And notice that I don't even care about the lipsynch thing! I don't care at all if she does playback or not today, but gosh, if they are going to release a DVD, can't they give us the best vocals from her? Wherever they take them, from the recording studio prerecorded ones, or live from any other venue in the tour! But is that hard to do to give us the best vocals from the best singer?

I can't even explain myself today what happened with the ANDLILV CD, and who allowed that CD to happen with such poor quality. I won't believe Céline let that happen

Exactly. But it seems we can't even complaint about that. Something that is logicall at any point of view I think But not for some people. They are satisfied with whatever crappy thing Sony gives them, and then everybody has to think the same way...

Frankly, I can't believe that after 25 years in the business Celine / Rene / Sony cant see fit to release a live DVD / CD as performed on the night it was recorded, you know....live.

Is the reason we've had a 2 year delay for these releases that there is so much "behind the scenes tampering" to do?

Lol, and it's not that I really hate the releases.
but after 2 years they could have done a little more then just mixing 2 shows together!

and in the end, when i have the discs and can watch them (tomorrow night finally) i would be very very very happy.
but a little tiny bit more interest, and activity in bringing 2 different shows wouldnt be that hard... ;-)

vocally i'm happy with it.
maybe she could have done better, maybe not. But i love them

and there will always be other performances who some may think were better, but then we would live in an dreamland if we all are satisfied

EDIT: like Shaun says, they should have think a little bit before she went on tour that we wanted 'live' songs, and if that means they will use prerecorded stuff on the tour, i dont care. But dont prerecord after the show, and then try to dub it. We will see it's not live, and you 'feel' it to...

it's an absurd to release 2 dvds while they are almost the same.... That's the thing i really don't understand... do they think people are stupid? It's obvious that fans will buy both French and English concert and they had so much footage that it wouldn't be a problem... I don't mind anything else but mixing those concerts doesn't make sense... As you said I would rather they released 1 version but a mixture of the concert from all ove the world - including TT, CFTF, ANDHC etc... and that would be awesome.... That's the thing that is really done wrong...

I would appreciate this dvd 100% if it wasn't messed up like this... My dream though was also to have one-night songs on dvd but as I said I would respect their absence if anything else was good because they omitted it also on A New Day.. dvd

Yeah, i think in this digital age we live in we've been a bit spoiled with all the bootleg stuff so readily available on YouTube and suchlike. If we hadn't heard some of the other awesome performances from other shows I think we'd be really satisfied with the vocals in this release.

That being said, it's also because of the digital age we live in there is no excuse not to get stuff right. Plenty of opportunity to film it correctly, two years to edit it and plenty of fans to listen to along the way.

I haven't seen or heard the DVD/CD yet (want to wait for the proper releases) so I can't comment in either a postive or negative way with any justification, so I'm not going to.

But I do feel that it was a misjudged decision to open a seperate thread for people who wish to air their complaints about this issue.
I think the topic that is called: Taking Chances World Tour DVD Release Thread, Released in Australia, Out: May 10th (UK), May 11th (USA)
should probably have been monitered to be more specific about the actual release of the DVD throughout the world, detailing release dates, where to buy, differences in tracklists etc.

A seperate topic should have been created concerning personal opinion, so that people could then engage in debates about the release itself. But this should include both positive and negative comments which are, like all good threads, part self regulated / part monitered. If things start getting too one-sided then moderators should step in, as they often do, and people should be advised that there are seperate topics where they can vent anger at issues like playback use if they are repeatedly remaking the same point.

Believe me, I am no fan of negative posters, who can sometimes take over a topic as their own anger and frustration boils over. But really if we wanted all lovey dovey and absolute adoration of everything that Celine, Sony and others do, we might as well all go to the official website for good. We're fans, we're passionate about Celine, her music and her legacy and we want only the very best releases possible. If that means the odd criticism, that's fine with me. But segregating opinion like this, that is not in the best interests of Celines legacy.

Of course there are going to be times when things get a bit heated and opinions begin to divide people, but to expect the positive and negative camps to split off and have their own seperate topics just makes both topics one way and unbalanced. I urge the admins to look again at this decision because this kind of enforced segregation has no place in a forum.
