TC sounds awful live. No wonder people don’t want to listen to it.

I think she had unique problems with the F#5 note. She was always had good F5s and G5s...but the F#5 gav her a bit of problems, I guess it sits in an awkward place for her voice. I dunno
By the way, does anyone remember somewhere a list on the forum of what songs on the tour(s) were lipped or not? I know some members had amazing memories with that.

Power of love, everything after the first verse
Taking Chances, basically the whole climax plus the what do you say low notes
All of it’s all coming back to me now, to love you more, and eyes on me
The big note in All By Myself
Some people like to say the high notes of fade away, particularly the Pritoria performance, are lipped but I am positive that is live
Alone, starting with that last how do I get you alone, and the sustains at the end, so basically everything after that little musical break
All of that’s just the woman in me
All of my heart will go on, except the humming at the very end
I think that’s everything.

In the lower key it was F5, but Celine has not been able to consistently support chesty F5s, especially outside of her prime.
Well, fair enough, but the Taking Chances high note is not very chesty to begin with. I think mimicking the way she sang that note on that particular song was just weird for her -- maybe a vestige of the Dioguardi direction lol. Even when she hit F#5s in rehearsals during that era in France, it just sounded a bit odd compared to her other F5s and G5s.
It's also odd bc she sang other F5s during the tour with lots of ease. As I recall, she sang Taking Chances live on the Today Show & on X Factor ... and both times she wasn't in great vocal condition, so it's not really a true test. I'd have to go back and listen to the Johannesburg one.

What about her performance on the Dancing with the stars?
American Music Awards?
The View?
Gosh, we had so many performances back then

I was talking about live performances. Off memory, The View was live and AMAs was not? I'll have to check that.

The Taking Chances world tour is now available for streaming on Arte (French-German TV channel) on its youtube channel until 14/10/2024. It is the 2nd Céline's related show that has been made available recently (with the Swiss documentary on Eurovision 1988)
So much love for Céline recently

Not sure where else to post this but did anyone save the videos from Pretoria that had been shared here long ago? I know some are available on youtube but I seem to remember the person who attended was at both Pretoria shows. Some songs came from Kape Town too. Looking for the end of Alone from the first date of the tour as some say it was live but I've been unable to find it. Her vocals were so strong the first couple weeks. I Got The Music in Me must've only been the first song for a few days, IDAN intro was already used in Pretoria if memory is correct without the song actually being sung. Interesting choice to add the bridge of BYLM midway into the Australian leg of the tour as well. May have some more thoughts later that I'm forgetting about.

Wait, wasn't BYLM not sung the way it's on the hits medley and at every show since 2003 at the beginning of the tour? That's new to me

So I thought I posted this earlier but figured I'd share what I have from this tour. I still need to add the stuff from opening night that I have but everything else should be in the folder below. I thought I had shared these before but can't find them on here now. Does anyone have Milan 2008, or the Montreal dates of August 19, 20, 31 and September 1? I am doing a bit of investigation to figure out what parts of each song come from boston or Montreal. Probably going to break it down in more detail later but being able to find more from Montreal September 1 would help.

So here goes my attempt of the DVD breakdown. I will not be including completely lipped songs. I have determined that instrumentals are dubbed too, not just vocals. I guess I'll start with TPOL as the first verse is live. It's mostly Boston but the "and feel each move you make" doesn't line up, and the "not forsake" may be dubbed from some studio take, she always went higher at the end of "forsake" by that point.
Taking Chances, the "and I don't know much about your world at the beginning is probably dubbed from the studio, and most likely the "and maybe this is going too fast" the other parts that aren't lipped seem to be a mix of Boston and Montreal August 31 but not fully confirmed.
Because You Loved Me, the first line is dubbed but the rest is fully Boston and is a nice listen.
All By Myself, the first two verses and choruses are Boston except the "sometimes I feel so insecure" which is probably dubbed from the studio. Everything after the second chorus, including the slight adlib just after the second one is from Montreal September 1 except the lipped big note:
I'm Alive is mostly from Montreal September 1.
Shadow of Love and Fade Away are entirely from Boston.
Alone first verse seems to be from Montreal August 31, but the second verse and everything else until the lipped part is mostly Bostin except the first line or two of second chorus.
My Love is from Boston, but the French DVD is from Montreal September 1.
PQTME seems to be the complete opposite of the song above.
The Prayer and Queen medley are Boston, but the latter has major pitch correction all over.
Soul Man Medley, mostly Boston from what I can tell except the second to last line which I'd assume to be Montreal September 1 but can't confirm. It's A Man's World is entirely Montreal September 1, but the video that proved this no longer has audio.
LCMM, this is mixed, but some dubbed sections are unconfirmed. Live arrangements from this late into the tour were quite bad anyway.
RDMH, I believe this to mostly be Montreal September 1.
In conclusion, people seem to think the dubbing is mostly the lipped portions, but the reality is most songs have some level of dubbing, even maybe some extra studio takes here and there that aren't necessary

So I have found another source, though incomplete, of the Macau show from March 2008. I'll copy the link below. Could anyone here merge that source with the one I posted here a few weeks ago to make a more complete listen? I do find it strange that neither source includes I've Got The music In Me, or I Can't Fight The Feeling, wasn't the latter often performed in place of Fade Away in many concerts from that leg?

Interesting. I feel like I want to look into that dubbing because I kinda think some of that we would've spotted a long time ago. Everything that was dubbed was completely void of any audience noise (except what they added in during only ABM, I bet they realized they couldn't get away with silence there). The most obvious way to notice this was thru acapellas that were posted on youtube at one time. You can hear the sound change of the audience. The most noticeable song was actually IDAN where toward the end of the song she actually screams into the mic and for half a second you can hear crowd noise. If what you're saying is correct, I would think we should also hear a muted audience during those other parts you say are dubbed.
Edit:

Wow, that sound difference at the playback dubbing is even more noticeable than I remember, but the parts you suggested may be dubbed seem normal to me. The other songs are still available on that channel.
Here's IDAN where you can really hear around 4:11-4:13 difference in the sound changing.

Oof, that transition from live to dubbed lipped section of TC is jarring. I remember All By Myself being very noticeable too. I'm curious to check IDAN now.
